Healthy Schools | LINK | Écoles Saines has launched 🚀 Last week, partners from across Canada came together to officially launch Healthy Schools | LINK | Écoles Saines – Linking Implementation, Networks and Knowledge. Over two days, we strengthened connections, aligned our vision, and set the stage for evaluating and enhancing school-based healthy living programs. With over 5.4 million children and youth in 14,600 schools nationwide, every student deserves a healthy environment to learn, grow, and thrive. This work will advance a National Framework for Healthy School Communities and build evidence to support schools as equitable, impactful spaces for child health. 🔗https://lnkd.in/gP-PKUpQ Collaboration makes this work possible. • Early in our careers, we all experience moments that test our confidence and challenge our practice. We recently asked our Educator Advisory Council to reflect on lessons from their early teaching days. What they shared were thoughtful stories about growth, well-being, and redefining what “failure” really means in the classroom. For Kathryn, a lesson that once felt like a disaster ultimately became a powerful reminder: growth often comes through discomfort. Looking back, what lessons shaped you most in your early career?

Grateful is the word that keeps coming up as I reflect on my experience at our recent Shaping the Future 2026 conference. The work with Ever Active is a powerful reminder that community and youth wellbeing, as well as comprehensive school health aren’t concepts we just talk about but rather they’re values we live, practice, and build together every day- side by side with our community. From sitting on a panel speaking honestly to funders about the opportunities and challenges facing youth wellbeing, to turning around and practising what we preach by stepping into discomfort and growth (yes…including trying ice climbing for the first time), the learning at Shaping the Future has been real, embodied, and deeply meaningful. What stands out most is our team. A group of people willing to learn out loud, challenge assumptions, support one another, and stay grounded in why this work matters. Watching our collective growth as well as challenging my own has been a privilege. Huge appreciation for our leadership team and board of directors who lead with clarity, trust, and heart. They also create space for growth, innovation, and connection. It’s leadership that doesn’t just talk about wellbeing, but actively models it. Feeling energized by the conversations, the courage, and the community we’re building together. 💚

what a week it has been! First, we hosted another successful Ever Active Shaping the Future Conference. Then I was off to Rocky Mountain House to do IYMP Mentor training, then down south to Piikani to recruit and present to high school students. I am honored and grateful to be part of such an amazing team. I would also like to thank some of our funders that supported IYMP. Thank you Air Canada, CN Rail, Storey Family Foundation, Jenkins Family Foundation, and Peter Gilgan Foundation. #Everactive #IYMP #ShapingtheFuture
