MAY
may was a VERY busy month for us. we were just getting into the swing of living with nana and gramps, we headed out on a few adventures, and we had lots of play time to get us ready for summer.
to start things off, we enjoyed celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary ALL together as a family. we spent may 9th nice and relaxed with the family.... and we topped it off with coldstone ice cream.
that weekend, however, we ditched the kids with nana and headed downtown for a little getaway time. a little babymoon of sorts. we ate at the downtown rodizio, caught a movie together, and stayed at the armstrong mansion in a room that had a tub in the highest room of the house. you can sit in this tub and see all over salt lake valley! it was nice.
the next morning, we went to the temple together- in SLC.... where it all started!

and headed home to see this cute face:
it was a GREAT weekend to spend together.
speaking of ivy, it was so fun this month to see her decide to grow up! she ditched her crib as soon as we moved in my parents and decided that instead she wanted to sleep with her sister. it was as precious as you could imagine. these two...
summer started this month and we spent a lot of time outside. one of our first stops was the fort union splash pad.
ivy wasn't digging to cold water... so she spent a lot of time just going down the slide at the playground.
violet was thrilled to be out and in the water again. it had been a long winter!
another favorite outdoor activity is hiking up past nana's house. there are so many trails and streams that we kept plenty busy.
later in the month, we decided to take off down south to spend some time with our good friends in st. george.

we stayed at suz's parents' condo. it was SO nice! this is the view from the backyard:
violet managed to find a little bit of trouble while we were there. she has a great future in makeup application.
other than that, we spent our time hanging out with friends, swimming, hiking, and loving it all.
a zoo visit was a great way to kick off the summer fun.
violet and owen spent the entire time pretending to be gorillas. it was helpful.... for the most part.
and this time, we got up close, and personal with a few animals.
ivy was really into it.
this month was also huge for us because we found out that our little baby was a....
BOY!
in other news, cade discovered his skill at being the coolest mime around.
