Your breath is a whisper on the back of my neck,
Soft and calm, warm, gentle.
Your name is a sigh off the Devil's lips,
Alluring and forbidden, it lures me in.
Your eyes are pools I could drown myself in,
Captured stars, burning with brilliance.
Your arms are a haven in a raging storm,
A heavy anchor, keeping me steady.
I look to the sky, watch the lights twinkle and dance,
I reach for your hand, but find my own empty,
I cry to the night, wishing you closer,
But still I am incomplete.
My heart is a hole bottomless and gaping,
The icy wind blowing, embraces so cold.
Her hair is like starlight her skin like the winter,
Perfection so lacking, connection so short.
Your heart is not hers she does not complete you,
Like a hand reaching out, so far from the ledge.
Happiness lacking like a tarnished old teaspoon,
I pray her goodbye doesn't tear you in two.
And when the years pass and life regains its splendor,
When the birds begin singing and the flowers all bloom,
I'll lay myself down, reach my hand to the side,
And find yours there waiting, as if you've always known.

Sins & Virtues
So now, with the character I play surging out of control, with such a richly developed backstory, I've decided to try and take what was a bit of fun roleplaying and turn it into a book. To put our thoughts and story ideas on paper in such a way that maybe, just maybe everyone else in the world can see what we're so excited about. |
