After transcending his Sixth Stage tribulation, Song Shuhang just really needs a hug. Or so Senior White has decided. spoilers through 1748.

(So basically, I saw this fanart on pixiv of Senior White hugging Shuhang rather desperately and it has haunted me ever since. I was like 'ah, he's definitely thinking about all the times Shuhang has died and how relieved he is that Shuhang is still there', and so, this fic was born.

So uh, like 60% of this is just summarizing canon events so. ALL the spoilers leading up to chapter 1748 or so. I was traumatized and I needed some catharsis lmao.

btw this is really more pre-slash than anything, but it is definitely slash. my first actual slash fic in the fandom hahahaha....)

(So, for the timeline of this fic....Shuhang is at Sixth Stage, but it's some alternate universe Sixth Stage timeline and I didn't reference like. anything immediately leading up to him reaching Sixth Stage either. Also, I stopped reading when a certain thing happens immediately after that tribulation so it wouldn't influence what I was writing (or more like, so it wouldn't influence my motivation to keep writing this lmao).

Spoilers are actually through chapter 1543, because I just couldn't help referencing one of the greatest moments of White Two's very long life lol. But I wrote this mostly as a response to 1533-1535, and there's nothing deliberately referenced past 1543. (I also, uh, stopped reading at a Certain Point past 1543 so it wouldn't influence this at all, so...really looking forward to finally reading That now that this is finally done! 🙃 )

I realize this is a subject ripe for giving spoilers, and I really don't want them, thanks! So I'll be turning comments off for all parts. I hope everyone understands! :)
