House Pictures

It's been 2 years since I last made a post, and it was pictures of our last NC house. This post is pictures of our latest house since everyone in my family keeps asking to see.  My nesting instincts have given me the extra motivation to finally get pictures, decorations, and curtains hung.  After moving and kids, I got sick of buying new furniture that almost immediately gets damaged, so we have started building our own pieces of furniture, so I'll point out the projects we've done. Poor Tyler is ready to be done with my never ending list of weekend projects I wanted to accomplish before the baby comes. We pretty much live in the exact same house as far as the layout, but it's not the same house as the last post! We live about 40 minutes from our last house, and we love living in this location SO much better.

Our Great Room

We built the entertainment center and console table. The entertainment center was our first project and is definitely very far from perfect, but at least I don't have to freak out anytime Grayson is banging toys or driving cars across it!
 The Nursery
Image
I decorated the nursery around that blanket that we made at a baby shower back in Utah. The colors didn't all turn out exactly the way I wanted, but at least the nursery is decorated and ready! The bench is all handmade. I'm not a sewer AT ALL, but I managed to get a cover sewn for the cushion. Hopefully no one looks too close!

We also built her dresser and the crates on the bottom shelf. Notice Grayson's painting for baby sister's room. He is very proud of it! And yes that is our printer and router. This was originally the office and we didn't want to have the wireless all set up again somewhere different.
 Grayson's Room

I wanted a chalkboard wall for Grayson's room so bad, but since we don't know how long we'll be here, I didn't want to bother painting and then having to repaint.  So we build him this chalkboard.

Old Yankee stuff of mine that I've never used finally got put to use in his room.

We built his platform bed which is probably one of my favorite projects. I love that its so low to the floor!

I bought this table off craigslist and refinished it months ago, but I've yet to do anything about chairs.

Master Bedroom

We (mostly Tyler) built these nightstands.

This is our bonus room that acts as our storage space. We had to move office stuff up here to clear up a room for the nursery downstairs.  We hardly come up here and don't even turn the air or heat on.

This is right by our bonus room, and it never gets used except with the occasional visitor.

We also made the headboard for this bed.

New House

We moved to North Carolina at the first of January. I wanted to show pics of our house, so everyone can visualize where we're living. We didn't want to put too much effort into making it ours since we'll be moving out in a couple of months. It's just a temporary house, but we like it a lot.

ImageGrayson's bedroom which is basically just a space for his stuff. He never spends any time in there!

ImageThe cutest part of the bedroom and house! He just got these bum genius baby legs, and I never noticed all the pink on them when I ordered them. Oh well!! At least they match his diaper! By the way, if ya can't tell, he hates his crib!

Image Second hallway from front door heading toward the living room

Image The first door on the right in the hallway is our blue and orange garage. We figure the owners must be Auburn fans. We love the garage. There is so much extra space even with 2 cars!

Image The second door on the right goes upstairs to a big bonus room and a MIL suite that we never use and haven't even set up yet, so I won't show any pics!

You can see the master bedroom past the kitchen.

Image Our backyard out from the kitchen. There is a little above ground pool that we emptied and the wind came and blew it over, so that is the big blue thing in our yard!

Easter Party

I have not posted anything for quite a while, and there have been a lot of changes in our lives. Since there is so much to catch up on, I will just post what's happening right now and fill in the rest of the details later. On Saturday Tyler's work had an Easter Party. It wasn't the warmest day, but it was fun to take Grayson to the playground and play outside with him. He loved his one egg that he managed to pick up during the Easter egg hunt and even got a picture with the Easter Bunny! Tyler and I are not too big on holidays, so it was a good way to force us to do at least one festive thing for Easter. I guess even though Grayson is still young he can still appreciate and have fun with the holiday activities. We also brought our new dog. She loved all the attention that everyone gave her at the park. We didn't get a picture of her, so I will have to post one later. Image

Grayson Camden Adams

Image
Our little boy is now 5 weeks old! He is getting so big and time is flying by, so we're just trying to soak it all up. I think we've also pretty much adjusted to our new life as parents, and we're pretty happy with our little guy. We have a lot of fun with him. Here are some pictures from the hospital and some that we have taken in the first five weeks.

He loves laying in his crib looking at his mobile and listening to his music. Notice the bed has only a sheet because he had just peed on every piece of bedding possible while I was changing him.

He started smiling at 3 1/2 weeks and will do it everytime after he has been fed and burped. You can tell they're real smiles because the rest of his face lights up and his eyes crinkle. Today after church I went to get him out of his car seat, and out of nowhere he gave me a huge grin. It's the cutest thing ever. I've been trying to get a picture, but they're hard to catch. Here is a little bit of his smile. Usually his mouth opens really big.
