Katelynn's Birthday!

Image
For Katelynn's birthday, we went as a family to eat at Chic-fil-a for lunch. It was our first time there and we thought it was pretty good!

Katelynn had been asking for a pink flashlight for quite a while, and was thrilled to get one!

Later, we met at the park in Shelley with the nearby cousins. Thank goodness for cousins to make a quick, easy party!

We were so glad Katie's family was in town for the birthday!

I love that they're both blowing the candles out!

This is Cora's present, which included a note. Here, they are reading it together. Such cute friends!

Daddy got in the shop that day and whipped up a cute belt for Katleynn. She loves it and it looks SO cute on her!

I love all the different expressions I caught of this sweet girl of mine. I can't believe Katelynn is 6! I remember the first time I saw her, she was so unfamiliar to me. I was used to how Quincy looked; bald, a little scrawny, and all smiles! Katelynn came out plump and pink, full of black, curly hair, and a serious expression on her face. She was the sweetest, easiest baby, sucking her thumb from the beginning, and learning to smile right away! She was my first natural, and so far, only home birth. It was a sweet moment when she came into the world. All I wanted to do was hold her close to me, so it took a few minutes before we even looked at her to see that she was a girl! We were so excited at that discovery! And she has proven to be very, very girl! Singing, twirling, blushing, and giggling; that's our Katetlynn Ruth!

Welcome Home, Uncle Mason!

Image
The long-anticipated day finally arrived, September 5, 2013! Uncle Mason in the flesh! What a fun night this was, and a bit of a roller-coaster! Mason was scheduled to get in at 10:00 PM, originally, but was then delayed and told he'd have to wait for a flight the next day to get him all the way home. So, we all changed our plans of keeping the kids up all night (even though I had tricked mine into take a late, LONG nap in preparation). THEN, we got a call that his prayers were answered and he was actually on his way! He wasn't supposed to land until 11:00 PM, so we all relaxed and watched the clock. I decided to get there a little early, since we were ready, and I was sick of sitting at home. As I pulled into the airport, I was on the phone with mom and told her that I saw a plane that had already landed! She paniced, and we parked and ran in! Luckily, he hadn't come off the plane yet, but I was so glad we were there, because in he walked, just a minute or two later! We were heartbroken that his whole welcome party wasn't there (especially mom and dad), but were so excited to see him! It was so fun! (I'll apologize beforehand for the poor, poor quality of my pictures! ArGH! It was so hectic that I didn't take the time for the correct settings. I'm SO regretting that now!)

I put my camera down and got the first hug! Then the kids got to him and I started taking pictures. (:

These next moments are so sweet and tender, and I'm SO MAD at my camera!
