At CAMP, the Community Art Mobilisation Project, we make soft spaces for hard questions. We are a movement resource that calls artists, activists, and communities to gather, set the field, hold the line, and en-counter the polycrisis through a collaborative strategy of narrative repair. Through these strategies we activate, disrupt, and conspire.

We are a tactical resourcing unit that is fleet, fluid, and flexible. We design and act when others ponder their theory of change. We are problem solvers who prepare and resource intersectional movements through art builds; developing counter propaganda strategies to leverage the attention economy in actions that engage evolving audiences in new contexts in high visibility and low risk ways. We work in service and that means our outputs depend on what we are asked, what is required of us and what we can offer with abundance.

SOFT SPACE

We make soft spaces for hard questions. We are a movement resource that calls artists, activists, and communities to gather, set the field, hold the line, and en-counter the polycrisis through collaboration – moving from play to propagation – creating meaningfully and without compromise in abundance.

MAKE SENSE

We understand that when our hands are busy, we drop our masks. We transform listening spaces to emergent studios for world building where the people are encouraged to “sharpen themselves” from passive (audience) into active (participant) and collaborate with us to produce potent print materials as the “fruit of our labour”.

NARRATIVE REPAIR

We make sense at the site of trouble; connecting communities from contact to content as a strategy for narrative repair, remediating the media at the sites of contention and collapse. We share strategies of resistance and invention to process, transform, and metabolise experiences through cultural production and the everyday tools of artists from street art to publishing and performance.

COLLECTIVE ACTION

At CAMP we understand that when our hands are busy, we drop our masks. We transform listening spaces to emergent studios for world building where the people are encouraged to “sharpen themselves” from passive (audience) into active (participant) and collaborate with us to produce potent print materials as the “fruit of our labour”.  We show up, we make, we walk our talk, living as a constant creative practice in symbiosis  with the  materials we utilise, not simply producing objects but processes for collective care.

POTENT PRINT

Using the powerful tools of cultural work—print-making, publishing, street art—we shift dialogue to action. Our radical art confronts, questions, and persuades, calling for the change we need. We call. We create. We care. We work to build resilience that is intergenerational and honours the young and old, human and nonhuman alike – flourishing ecosystems, healthy communities, and empowered people. Together, we share strategies of resistance and innovation to support the sustainability of our movements.

At CAMP we invite our collaborators to first begin the process of narrative repair internally before flowing from our power as a more integrated humxn in touch with ourselves and each other before taking on the big bad world of the streets and alleys of discourse. We learn how to resource our feelings, our intentions and build our own knowledge systems.

STREET ACTION

Narrative repair is a process where we move from the soft space to the street where we care for various spaces through repairing the social infrastructure and/ or adorning with painted and wheatpaste murals focusing on mediated images, headlines and pointed potent and urgent messages
