I Think I Can...
Okay, so this morning I have realized all the cute things my kids do will never be recorded unless I get with it and start blogging. 'Cause you know I'm not writing in a journal either.
So here is where we are at... Jaxton is 2 and 1/2 and Makaelyn is now 6 months old. They are definitely two peas from the same pod.
Jaxton is the best big brother Makaelyn could ever ask for. He sometimes doesn't realize it when he is smothering her in loves and kisses. What I love the most is taking naps with him and then waking up to him giving kisses to wake me up. Jaxton is quite the little athlete too... (just as I hoped he would be). For Christmas we bought him a T-ball stand so he could get an early start on his career as a Professional Baseball player. Steve taught him the right stance and how to step into the ball while swinging...goodness he can hit the ball pretty far. Jaxton also loves to ride his big wheel and his other tri-cycles all throughout the house. Jaxton also loves to go for rides on dad's quad or grandpa’s rhino-cart. He is fascinated with wheels and will lean out so he can see then turn. His FAVORITE thing to do though is to play in everyone's cars. I'm not too sure everyone enjoys it as much as he does when their battery is dead the next day.... He is very systematic. First thing he goes for is to find out which button turns the lights on and then which button turns the hazard lights on. Last week while at Grandma Paynes, it was dark outside and he and his cousin Keilah were gone... I found them both in one of his favorite trucks listening to the raido...(looked like a miniature couple "parking" for a romantic evening... if they weren't 2 I'd be worried... :))
Makaelyn is starting to be so much fun. She is such a good baby!!! Goodness, I don't know how I got so lucky. Steve was able to train her to sleep through the night since she was 4 weeks old. Gotta love that! She is in daycare with Jaxton at GCU and everyone there loves her too. They tell me that the other babies in her class are pretty demanding and have to be held all the time... but that she is a great baby. She is now rolling all over the floor and can even sit up on her own for a little bit. Steve keeps telling me not to encourage her to crawl...because life will become that much harder. She likes to talk a lot especially when she it tired. Her first word... da da. Poor thing has Jaxton’s hair..(at least I think so), but she is gorgeous.
As for Steve, he is still working at Red Mountain Machinery, but is actively searching for another job. He is such a wonderful dad and can have our kids laughing and in a good mood in no time. Right now he is playing in a softball league with guys from our ward here in Maricopa. On October 8th, he was playing in a flag football league and ended up tearing his Achilles tendon… poor guy had to have surgery on his birthday, October 10th. He was quick to recover after being on crutches for 6 weeks and in a boot for another 2 weeks. He still isn’t 100%, but can’t resist getting back into sports.
I am about to go through a transition myself. I have been doing management for 2 years at GCU and have decided to make a change. Recently my department moved from the GCU campus to I-17 and Peoria. Quite the drive. It has added another 40 minutes to my already long drive. So, I will be moving to our Education department and will be an inside rep doing Enrollment again. The reason for the change is that the Education department will be moving to I-10 and Elliot shortly which will make my drive to work only 20-25 minutes. The ultimate plan is to get me home by the end of the year… hopefully….pending other circumstances. J I enjoy playing in a pretty competitive volleyball league with some girls I played with in high school and also Stephanie Metcalf from my college team.
Okay. Hope you all enjoyed the update on our family. We love you all.

Hi everyone,
We started a blog for our family and figured that this would be the easiest way for people to keep tabs on our family. Here are some pictures and stuff just to get started.
Love the SBPs.
