And I say that with great affection.
The new car is great, and I no longer have nightmares about how I'm going to pay for it. I'm getting a bonus for winning a project at work that's worth like, 2 & 1/2 car payments!!! The old me would have thrown a party and done some seriously irresponsible shit with that $$$, but it's I guess its a semi-new me for a semi-new year.
Found out later in the week that some form of tax break for buying a new car under $50k in 2009 is on the table with the stimulus scramble. Not even sure what they'll agree on, if anything, and what the bottom line will be for some schmoe like me. Whoopie, I guess :p Somewhat serindipitous, at least. It pays to not be afraid of the economy-monster.
DJ'ed with Lothair and Copper Top at Chapel Perilous on Monday night, and we drove in my car. It's zippy! I have to re-learn how not to slam on the gas when accelerating from a stop; my old car was just too much vehicle for me, I guess, lol. I also don't entend on scratching this one up, because if you've seen it, it's TINY! but I like little cars like that better. You're going to be envious when gas goes back up.
"Do you find something comical about my appearance when I'm driving my automobile? Everyone needs to drive a vehicle, even the very tall. This was the largest auto that I could afford. Am I therefore to be made the subject of fun?" Lol Simpsons!
Anyway, back to the non-car part of the story. I found Chapel to be a smashing sucess, and I feel bad for those who couldn't come out. Yeah, mondays are tough, and wintertime is tough, and yes you should also support Crash if nothing else, but the people who did come were cool, I met some cool new folks, and had lots of fun. I'm amazed with myself for the last set I did 1:15-2. I didn't write it down; I used to write my list as I went, but I've gotten lazy. We all did great.
Been promoting for Anti-Valentine's with Gretchen and we went to the show at the Melody Inn late last night. I wore some metallic silver leggings that I saw at Future Shock while dropping flyers there, and had to have. I wore them even though I debated just how insane-looking they are. But paired with a short skirt, it looks like I have sexy metal robot-legs, and I got an almost-uncomfortable amount of attention. Next time I wear those, it's on like donkey-kong, lol.
But Anti-Valentine's is comming up, and we want U to come out! The $6-singles / $15-couples is meant to be tongue-in-cheek, just don't make out in front of the doorguy and you can all come for $6 ea.! And don't be all lovey-dovey-mushy at the event, or I'll kick you and take our extra $3!!!

........start my car, with a SCREWDRIVER!!!!!!!
Got it back this afternoon. It needs a new steering column. Gotta call junk yards, I guess. Lol, no political content whatsoever. Except roundaboutly, in that there's an Obama sticker on my jacked-up car.
STR8 STREET, homes!!!

Just went to the dentist. The grill be good to go for 6 months.
Yesterday I slept in way too late and then went to the evening body-sculpt class at the gym. The parking lot was packed. I forgot that there would most likely be a buttload more people there at any given time for January, and into February. Then most of them will forget about their resolution to get in shape and things will be back to normal. The real deal. I had to struggle for floor space, the class room was packed w/ new people also. I was a little dissapointed that there was a different instructor than usual, and she went pretty easy on us, in my opinion. Not like the former Marine Corps guy who usually teaches it. Then most everyone there would quit, lol. So I felt pretty badass I guess.
Went to Chicago with Gretchen and Jess and Ryan, our friends from work, on Saturday. We shopped all afternoon, then danced at Neo. Text-flirted w/ a guy (in Indy) I met recently, between dances. God I'm a dork. Left at 3 (4 our time) and drove back in fog.
Sunday I saw the Leisure Kings show at the Mel. I wasn't really expecting the text-guy to show, since he said 'maybe', and from guys that usually means you're destined for a flake-out. But he did show up, said he didn't want to go back on his word, and we talked for a while. I think he's interested, but I'm not sure how interested I am yet. It takes me a minute to get interested, if I'm going to. I'm still not about jumping into anything serious, and I'm mostly not into hopping into bed with just anyone. Anymore. Lol. Not drinking to excess should help.
Gretchen offhandedly mentioned that guys sometimes ask her about me, like "You're friends with Caroline, right? what's she like? is she smart?" in such a way that they half-suspect I'm a vapid stupid party-girl floozie or something. She says these people are mostly chumps, so she simply answers "well, she's smarter than you!" or "I'm only friends with smart people" Ha, they'll never know. But like I give a crap about what random chumps think of me. You can't handle dis!!! Come talk to me if you want to know, pussies.
I'm still off work till Sun 1/11 @ 6pm. Lucky me. :p I hope I haven't forgotten how to do my damn job once I'm back.

I no longer feel like having the last entry be the last entry, so here 'ya go:

It's cold, and I don't feel like doing anything extra like working out and whatnot. I just stay in bed longer lately. Damn you flannel sheets. So comfy. It makes it impossible to get up, esp when the cats are cuddling me, mostly because we're all too cold.
Well crap, I'm going to attempt to enjoy some TV before work.

Why is it okay to talk a bunch of mad shit about me just because I help promote parties and play some goddamn CD's during them? Like seriously, I'm not trying to step on ANYONE's toes, and suddenly I'm the devil because HELP put on parties... that are awesomely successful because we actually do some legwork, like any other successful event out there. Speaking of which....

Car is making a horrible grinding sound. I've pretty much got rides arranged for whatever I'm doing this week until I can drop it at the shop. This is the only time living alone freaks me out; when my car is being undependable.
Got too much going on at once I feel like. Too much and nothing. My cat's being an attention whore. Okay I'll come back when I have something exciting to write.

I got a new laptop (okay it's Stan's old laptop) and I'm using it now in front of the TV. Such a vidiot. I'm bound determined to learn pro-web-programming stuff on it. Once I come up with my billion-dollar internet app that will be bought up by google or some shit (lol, yeah right), I will not have any implementation issues in my way. Even if I never come up with the big idea, I'm a dork and I like programming.
I felt like posting something other than cat pics. I put the livejournal app on my blackjack II, so I can automatically post from my phone, or when I take a picture with the phone. So that's what that's about.
Now I'm going to clean my stank-house though. In a decidedly low-tech manner, since the dishes are on the bill and I don't even have a dishwasher. (where would I even put one? if you've seen my kitchen, you know the answer is, "...uh... outside?") But I digress. Laterz, lolz!

sent off for a passport today; hopefully will have occasion to use it this year.
[Anti-]Valentine's Party Gauntlet Mania starts in a couple days. It was never like this when I had a bf on valentines.
Just got a new smartphone, but I'm such a dumbass i keep texting the wrong people with it; and they're all, "wtf are you talking about psycho?!? quit text-raping me!" j/k, not really. But it keeps getting sent back to the last person who texted me even though I chose someone else's name. Bitchez LUUUUV text messages!
Time to make some fuckin' coffee. Need shower. Go to work and vomit.
I hearts my velvety panther purr-machine. He can be my valentine. If he'd get out of my damn lap so's I can get on wit' it. You have reached maximum cuteness quota, Pepper.
