Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery’s (CCAR) Recovery Support Services are designed to support, empower, and connect individuals at every stage of their recovery journey. These programs collectively demonstrate CCAR’s commitment to honoring all pathways of recovery and promoting wellness through hope, connection, and peer-led support.
Virtual Support Meetings
All Recovery Meetings are discussion groups based on universal recovery topics. They are open to anyone who is challenged by addiction, affected by someone else’s addiction and to supporters of recovery in general. All Recovery Meetings embrace all pathways of recovery and we end in positive affirmations.
Telephone Recovery Support
Telephone Recovery Support (TRS) is an innovative, peer-to-peer support service. Trained volunteers that are, in many cases, in recovery themselves, make weekly calls to “check in” and see how people are doing. Recoverees are offered support, encouragement and information about resources that may help them maintain their recovery.
Recovery Community Centers
Young People and Family Services
CCAR’s Young People and Family Services (YPFS) are rooted in our Recovery Community Centers (RCC). We provide support for Young People and Families affected by substance use by offering peer-led, recovery support meetings either in-person, at our RCCs, or virtually on Zoom, along with other recovery support services. YPFS participants have the opportunity to engage in local and statewide advocacy efforts and contribute to developing support networks within established RCCs through personal meetings, presentations, and other promotional/networking activities.
Recovery Coaching Programs
Our Recovery Coaching Programs work with Emergency Departments and the Department of Corrections to meet with individuals to provide information on recovery and recovery support services.
