Title: Spring Showers

a breeze becomes a gale,
in an instant, almost –
in micro-measurements, in fact

written down the margins
inside a book closed shut:
furious gusts have torn
too many important pages out

written by the weaker hand
of someone you know you trust,
but the symbols remain illegible

the gale brings rain, it always does;
it soddens at will, not because it’s spoilt
but because of its nature

after the torrent, puddles at every corner,
the risk to slide on sludge;
along the opportunity to wipe it off, later
