my three haunters

halloween

Corpse Bride… Uno Amigo… The Fearsome Pirate. Halloween 2010. Paigey never broke character with a smile, Taylor was rarely seen, and Gabriel laughed every time he looked at his beard and moustache in the mirror. Man, I know how to work some magic with the eyebrow pencil.

I kinda miss blogging about these three. I have a whole summer’s worth of activities I could catch up on… it’s been busy. Hopefully the 2 people that still check this thing don’t mind if I play catch up for a while.

retro baker

fam pics _ daddy daughter

Paigey was handed down a friend’s Easy-Bake oven, and she’s in heaven. She just wants to bake, bake, bake. She’s even making up excuses to bake for her older brother.

The personal size brownies, blondies and cookies are the best thing ever – at least according to our aspiring Betty Crocker.

tylenol

rock band

This picture does not do justice to the intense noise this group makes!

I would post a video, but then we’d all have a headache. I’m willing to suffer alone. You’re welcome.

work it

homework

Me: Have you finished your homework yet?

Taylor: Nope.

Me: Well, come on inside and finish it up.

Taylor: But, I don’t want to. I want to stay outside… and play with Gabriel… he’s my best friend.

Oh..... they know how to work their mother.

conversing with g-a-b-r-i-e-l

Earlier this week Gabriel decided to show us what he's made of and surprised us by spelling out his name. It's now his go-to performance. Suddenly, he can't remember anything else on cue (i.e. his age and saying his name). That's okay. Baby steps.

ringing in twenty ten

christmas edits2

We had plans to host a small party of friends for a little New Year celebration. Unfortunately, mine and Gabriel’s immune systems had other plans. Round 2 of strep throat. Sigh.

So, instead, Paigey hosted her own little bash with high hopes of staying awake until midnight.

Gabriel fell asleep watching movies with Daddy at 9:00.

I hid out until 11:00, which is when I toasted to the New Year with Todd and the girls. [It was midnight somewhere] The girls did make it to 2010, but Paige only barely – her eyes closing before the clock struck 12.

let it snow

building snowmen

After Christmas, we spent some time up in the mountains in search of snow. Along with our friends, the Watsons, we rented a cabin.

Our many activities included:

  • lounging
  • game playing
  • eating
  • hanging out
  • playing in the snow
  • my first [miniature] snowman as a solo sculptor
  • snow eating
  • visiting
  • puzzling
  • sledding
  • card playing

It was an INTENSE schedule ;)

Todd did take the “big” kids skiing one day. This was Paigey and Brayden’s first time and Taylor’s second. Even through blinding snowfall, they had a blast!
