As I mentioned in my app, Eles is actually Celes, who is a girl dressing up as a boy!

The reasons for this are kind of spoilery (except for where they come up in the first two chapters), but basically it boils down to dead fraternal-yet-identical twin tragic backstory. Celes continues to dress up as and go by her brother's name for various reasons, the most important being a) she wants to honor his sacrifice b) there technically aren't supposed to be any females in the orchestre royal (even if they're the unofficial one) and it's generally safer to be a boy.

ANYWAY, the important thing for Camp stuff is that Celes will be dressing as a boy, and going by the name Eles. The others in the orchestra refer to her as kid or Eles even though they know the truth, and Celes herself doesn't have enormous angst about the actual gender thing. She's also a fairly good crossdresser, mostly by dint of the fact that she's still young and androgynous. In action tags, I will probably try to avoid using gender pronouns, or use them based on the context of the thread (ie generally only using she if it's a thread with someone who knows her gender or it's something from her POV, rather than an "outside" one where she's presenting as male). As people probably noticed from my stats/permissions post, I will most likely use her real name even less OOCly because I...got used to it and also don't want to confuse people too much.

With regards to people figuring out her gender, my basic thing is to use common sense, but it's probably fine? As I've said, it's fairly hard to tell that she's a girl at first glance if you don't have magical trapdar. She dresses like a...uh, from an old-ish French time period where they wear frilly clothes, so her clothing is childishly ambiguous to a modern audience (shorts, boots, caps, cute plaid patterns, the occasional ribbon, etc.). Her body language is generally young and tomboyish (she has no idea about how to wear a skirt anymore) and so on. This isn't to say that it's impossible, but it isn't something everyone and their mother would probably pick up on.

If people do figure out her gender ICly, giving me a heads-up if they're the type to tell other people would be nice. Telling her they think/know she's a girl is generally fine though--she'll react in two ways, depending on how well she knows the person/how she's told. A stranger telling her out of the blue will result in flustered denial, but if it's someone she knows and likes she'll just go "Oh yeah, but it's supposed to be a secret."

...wow, that got long. SO UH, QUESTIONS? Does your character have magical trap-sensing abilities? And if I ever do things that make people uncomfortable, please tell me!

Name: I have a post about it (and the gender thing) here, but LONG STORY SHORT: her real name is Celes (short for Celestite), but she'll be going by Eles (short for Elestial).
Age: We're guessing around 11-14.
Height: ...short?
Weight: Healthy?!
Medical Info: General bumps and scrapes you'd expect from a fairly active child.
Eyes: Blue.
Hair: Red. Presumably a darker red, although there is some color art where it's a bit orange-y.
Physical traits: Tiny loud androgynous moron--I mean, appears young enough that she's still at the "very pretty child(???)" stage. Eles appears to have developed a little later in the series, but that basically just means she's barely less flat than, say, Lucille. And since Eles is usually wearing layered, ruffly, "young lord" Kaori Yuki-style clothing, it's pretty hard to tell. She's pretty much always wearing shorts and knee-high shoes/socks.

Oh right, she also has pianist's hands--or as Lucille puts it, "they aren't big, but the muscles are well-developed, and the middle finger is curved toward the ring finger."

What's Okay To Mention Around Him/Her: Eles is from after chapter 12, so anything past that is probably a no. Again, see my info post for gender mentions (SPOILERS: IT'S PROBABLY OKAY).

Abilities: The ability to get held hostage at every opportunity-no, I kid (sort of). Eles is a pretty normal kid, aside from being able to play the piano (and organ) well. If she uses specially tuned pianos, she can play music that attracts guignols (and we're extrapolating this to zombies) and can temporarily keep them from attacking mindlessly. When she plays specifically from the Black Oratorio with Lucille and the others, they can do special things like restore the guignols' memories and then...lay them to rest, I guess? (Or explode them, but who's keeping track?)

OTHER THAN THAT, Eles has no special abilities, unless you count the fact that she is a Bad Decision Dinosaur but it all works out anyway because of good instincts and dumb luck (mostly the latter).

Notes for the Psychics/Magically or Spiritually sensitive: What you see is what you get, pretty much, aside from the crossdressing thing. Eles does still have some guilt about the circumstances of her brother's death, and how she's on this journey to "make his sacrifice worth it," but it doesn't usually come up.

Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/spit at/step on/etc?: A heads-up would be nice, but sure. Eles will flail and yell, possibly from behind the safety of a castmate.
Hugging/kissing/other non-violent physical contact: ALWAYS. I have numerous icons for this very purpose because our canon is sketchy like that.
Maim/Murder/Death: UM, talk to me, but probably a no.

Cooking: HAHAHA, Eles grew up as the young lady (and later lord) of a small town, so I highly doubt it. Now that she's on the road, the orchestra generally eats at taverns and inns, but Lucille and I realized that Kohaku is probably the only one who can cook decently if there isn't one nearby.
