Our Mission

The Centre for Social Work Education empowers mental health professionals and organizations through transformative, experiential learning. By bridging theory and practice with cutting-edge simulations and evidence-based methods, we cultivate confident, skilled leaders who drive positive change. Committed to integrity, inclusivity, and excellence, we foster healthier workplaces, stronger communities, and a more informed society.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to empower students, leaders, organizations and institutions to reach their full potential and become mental health leaders, ultimately contributing to the betterment of our society.

Innovative Approach to Learning

We recognize the limitations of traditional clinical training and place immense value on the voices of service users, whom we proudly call Experts by Experience (EBE). These EBEs work hand-in-hand with experienced clinicians to offer a unique and invaluable learning opportunity.

Simulation-Based Learning with Experts by Experience

Our approach is rooted in Kolb’s (1984) experiential learning theory, which posits that learning is most impactful when it occurs through concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation. We utilize simulation-based learning to provide focused experiential learning experiences, highlighting the significance of integrating theory and practice.
