The Center for Faculty Excellence is deeply dedicated to enriching faculty mentoring experiences through a multifaceted approach. Our mentoring development programs aim to enhance the experiences of both mentors and mentees across career stages, as well as support departments and their formal mentoring needs. Our Faculty Mentor Training has trained over 160 faculty mentors to enhance their skills for mentoring early-career colleagues. Peer Mentoring Circles supports early-career faculty development through peer support, networking, and community building, and engages experienced faculty to facilitate monthly Circles meetings.

Professional Development Workshops for Early-Career Faculty

The Professional Development Workshop series supports early-career faculty development. Workshops address professional development and career success topics relevant to faculty at the assistant professor level, many of whom are within their first few years of appointment. The Center for Faculty Excellence work with partners across campus to ensure the series meets the diverse professional and career needs of our faculty. The series aligns with the curriculum for CFE Peer Mentoring Circles, and faculty participating in Peer Mentoring Circles are strongly encouraged to attend. However, the series is open to all early-career faculty, fixed-term and pre-tenure, and regardless of academic discipline.

Facilitated by:

Jillian Di Persio, Joanna Foland

Program Offered:

October 2025 to May 2025
