First Campout of 2008

Image

Grampa Chapman, Logan, Joshua, Jonathan and I went camping the weekend of May 30th. We went to South Fork campground up above Pineview reservoir.

The boys love to get out and camp.

And they love to build camp fires!!

We wanted to go to Monte Cristo campground but the Camp Host at the South Fork campground said there was still 5 feet of snow up there, of course we did not believe them so we had to go check it out for ourselves Saturday morning.

Low and behold there really was at least 5 feet of snow up there. This is the entrance to the campground. No way we were getting the tent trailer in there.

So we decided to just play in the snow!!

Over all we all had a great time for the first camp out of 2008!!

Alexander's First Birthday

May 26th brought Alex's first birthday!!

ImageWe were in Idaho at Grandma and Grandpa Stacey's for his birthday. Alex decided (well mom decided) that he wanted a jungle safari cake. So Grandma baked her special carrot cake and Shanna and I decorated it with frosting and animals. Alex loved it.

He loved it so much that he got sick of waiting for mom to give him another spoonful that he just grabbed the cake and started to shove it in his mouth, It was really funny to watch.

Happy Birthday Joshua!

Image Joshua turned 7 on January 4th, 2008. This was the year that he got to have two birthday parties. We had a party with the the family on the 4th and a friend party on the 12th. It is good that we only have the friend party every other year because Shanna and I would go CRAZY otherwise.

For the Family party Josh wanted a Batman theme so we found the batman collection of hotwheels and put on his cake. It had the old 60's style Batmobile and the new Batman Returns style Batmobile.

Joshua got some of his favorite books, I SPY. He also got a new watch, a rubix cube, a marble run game and an mp3 player that he loves.

Joshua had 12 friends from school and the neighborhood here for the party on saturday the 12th. We had pizza and cupcakes, played games and had a lot of fun! Josh loved it because they were all his friends and they brought great gifts!!

Christmas in Ida-Snow

ImageHello from Snowy Idaho!!

We are in Idaho for Christmas and having a wonderful time. It seems like it hasn't stopped snowing since we got here on Christmas day. The snow is piled 14 to 16 inches deep right now. Today the wind has started to blow it around and the drifts are several feet deep.

We are here with all the Stacey clan. Scot and Nancy are here in Idaho Falls from Twin Falls Idaho with their 3 kids. I can't believe how big they are getting. Brian and Jess came up from California with their 4 kids. Their girls are so cute and Colby is very funny. Brett and Sherri are also here with Jacob and Gavin. We spend most of our time at Grandma and Grampa Staceys house. We do spend a lot of time at Brett and Sherri though because they just finished their basement and it has added a ton of play room for the kids. They don't have any furniture down their yet so it is just one big open room for them to run and play.

The kids have been playing in the snow and are loving it. We are so very glad that they all get along so well. They are enjoying their time together since they don't all see each other that much. We are also enjoying each others company. It is rare that the whole family gets together so we have fun with the time that we have.

Thanksgiving in Clearfield

We spent an amazing Thanksgiving surrounded by our family. Uncle Rich flew in from Vermont. He spent a week and a half with us. Barbra, Bryce and Maren came up from American Fork and spent a couple of nights in Grandma and Grandpas trailer. We ate Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma and Grampas. Of course we ate too much food and could not do much else but sit around and visit. It was a great opportunity to catch up with everybody since it seems like it is so hard to do that these days. Logan, Joshua, Jonathan, Bryce and Maren played together and had a great time.

Grampa and James ventured out on Black Friday at 4:30am to find some great deals, everyone thought we were absolutly CRAZY. They got done shopping by 6am and were back in bed before anyone else was awake!

We had a great time visiting and playing with all the family and especially enjoy the time we can spend together.
