I figure I just need to JUMP... I've been working on a new website and blog for what seems like forever. I've had the domain for over 2 years and have started a new website designs twice only to scrap them for some reason or another. Sorry for the extra work Geoff. I've wanted a new place where I can blog, possibly sell things, feature some of my creative work and hopefully generate new work. I haven't blogged on this site for well over a month because I was waiting to launch the Painted-Orange site. While the PO site still needs a bit of work, organization, and finesse, I figure I better launch it now or you'll never see a blog post from me again. Hop on over and see my new site www.painted-orange.com and follow my blog. My new blog will function much like this blog. Lots of personal, some craft, SU demo related, and now some business stuff. Basically my online space. I've also started a new section just for recipes. It'll serve as my online recipe book and a place to document all of Grandma Anita's recipes (a project I started earlier this year).
You may want to change your links if you were linking to the charletswebsite blog in the past.
Family and friends—thanks so much for reading, lurking, and otherwise staying up to date with the Mallett happenings. Can you believe I have been posting since 2007? I find it somewhat appropriate the my first post was titled KITE BENJA and included only a photo of Ben a few days before he turned 5. I started my blog to serve as a personal journal and hopefully the kids will enjoy browsing through their childhood one day. While I still blog for myself it's nice to know posts are being read.
Much love!
Charlet

Hello again. I'm excited to show you more (and the last) of the samples I created for Stampin' Up! 2014 Convention displays. These samples feature the Kinda Eclectic stamp set and other various products from the annual catalog. Contact me if you'd like more information, directions or supplies.
I've had some request for supplies and how to on the above card so I thought I'd share... Supplies for 'A Day to Remember' CARD:
Colors:Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, Going Gray, Whisper White
Stamps:Kinda Eclectic Stamp setProject Life Remember This Stamp set
Inks: Mossy Meadow & Lost Lagoon Classic Ink
Papers:Moonlight DSP, Whisper White, Lost Lagoon & Pool Party Card StocksEmbellishments:Pearls5/8" Organza RibbonTools, etc:Blossom PunchItty Bitty Flower Accent punchWoodgrain Embossing Folder (& Big Shot)Heat Gun & White Embossing powderSpong DauberScissorsAdhesiveBaby Wipes
The starburst was embossed on whisper white card with white embossing power stock first. Then I sponged lost lagoon ink (with a dauber directly from the ink pad) around the stardust randomly - I tried this a few times and I like the random look best. Then I lightly wiped with a baby wipe to remove ink from the embossed area (emboss resist). Then punch out flower shape with the blossom punch.
Here are quick links to all my convention samples:

Stampin' Up! Convention Day 1 - Inspire Create Share 2014
It is annual Stampin' Up! convention time again... Woohoo. This year I am attending with my friend (and downline) Paula Hogan. Her personal blog is here. It's so much fun to experience convention in front of the curtain and to see so many familiar and friendly faces. I am lucky to be demonstrator. I love my hobby and love to "support" my hobby.

While I am passionate about my SU hobby, I cannot compete with the passion of this guy. Impressive!
I attended convention last year with Joellyn (so much fun). You can read posts about that here. Last year I did not make card swaps and regretted it. This year I came prepared with swaps, not to actively trade but to have on hand just in case. Below are the swaps I created. I made about 30 cards total (15 each) and after day 1 I've depleted over half and I wasn't even trying. I know 30 swaps small potatoes for many but totally been worth it for me. I've gotten some cool cards in return but mostly have enjoyed the social nature of a swap.
Primary sets used are: Flower Patch, Watercolor Thank you and Work of Art.
There is so much to capture with an event like this. Here are a few random phone shots from the day.
Blendabilities markers (new 'copic like' blending markers) that I got to help with packaging design (freelance, last summer). Look how pretty these colored peacocks are?

I applied and was invited to be a convention stamper again. Yeah for me. I'm a dork but I love to stamp with a purpose and this fit that need perfectly. More fun stuff! I'll share the samples I created in the coming days, once convention is over.
