1st Birthday

Well I decided after a year that maybe I should update my blog... My baby girl turned 1 on Feb. 16th. I can't believe how fast it has flown. I know everyone says that, but seriously it went so fast with her. She is crawling like crazy, and gets into everything. She has been our easy baby, only crying when wet, hungry, tired. But now she is starting to show her personality and she is fiesty. When she doesn't get her way she will let you know.

We had family over and threw her a Zebra striped party. The cakes and decorations turned out really cute.

Big brother helped out so much with the gifts. He loved ripping into them and then showing sister what she got. However, If it was clothes he just threw it on the floor. Boys!
Addison didn't know what to think of the cake at first, but then she dove in. The black frosting made quite a mess, I was worried if it would come off. It did! My little girl ate quite a bit of the cake, but then she paid for it that night. Poor thing, had a tummy ache all night. It broke my heart!

Addison Mae Holste

I haven't posted for a long time.... but I took these pictures of my new baby girl, and just wanted to share them with you.

Addison Mae Holste was born Feb. 16th at 2:37 PM at LDS hospital. She was 8lb 1oz and 20.5 in long. She is such an easy going baby and is already sleeping for 6 hours through the night :) She is such a JOY!

Great News...

Well if you haven't already noticed by now I haven't been into blogging much lately. I have become a little bit more of a facebooker because I now have a smart phone. Anyways to cut to the chase I posted our good news on Facebook but forgot about my good ole bloggin buddies. WE ARE HAVING A GIRL!

The Quest

So weeks before our big trip we kept asking Nathan who he was going to see at disneyland and he would reply "lightning". So when we arrived to disneyland stephen and I began our quest to find Lightning Mcqueen.

We were becoming very nervous as it was Thursday (only one day left), we had been to both parks Cal. Adventures and DL, and still no sign of Lightning. We had almost started to believe that he did not exist at disneyland. Then we as a group decided to go on Soaring over California a ride at Cal. Adventures. When we got there Grandpa Holste walked around the corner..... and Lo and Behold who was there? you guessed it. LIGHTNING MCQUEEN. Few- I was getting nervous. Nathan was so excited to see him and Mater was there too.... here are some pics.

Then on Friday we decided to go to the pixar parade and who was in it.... yep right again LIGHTNING MCQUEEN.

The happiest place on earth :)

Wow this is ending up to be a really long post.... I took almost 500 pics. Five days of Disney and to tell you the truth I could have stayed longer. More pics to come!

Our home away from home...

Here is a picture of our condo where we stayed... We were on the 12th floor and had an amazing view of Disneyland. Because it is summer time they do fireworks everynight and the first night we watched them from our room and they were great! The pool was very nice and not busy at all since most of the visitors were at disneyland, however we managed to sneak away from disney a few times during lunch/nap time to go for a swim...

Swim Time

Okay so here are some pictures from our long trip to Anaheim California. As I was looking through my camera I realized I didn't really take many photos of our condo and swim area... but here are some of our first night there. We had a barbecue down by the pool and then enjoyed a little swimming, but it was windy and a little chilly so we didn't swim long. Also my little Nathan has turned into quite the swimmer he loves the water, and with his life vest on he isn't afraid of anything...

New Project.....

Well I have been wanting to redo Nathan's room for some time now, but had not found exactly what I wanted nor had the time. And once I finished school and had gobs of time on my hands I decided to go out and search for material, and make his bedding and curtains myself. Well I should no better than to get my mind set on exactly what I want because that never exists...... but I found some material that was pretty dang close to what I had in mind and it ended up pretty good I think... This was my first official quilt I have made and I think it turned out great! well atleast if you don't look to close :) I also made curtains and pillows... here's a few pictures...

Now all I have left to do is repaint the stripe on his wall- I am going to paint it navy blue, right now it is a light blue....

Oh and this morning after breakfast I told Nathan to go make his bed. He ran in there quite willingly which was suprising. After a few minutes he came back to my room and said "kitty is sleeping". So I went in to see how he made the bed and this is what I found....
I was actually quite impressed that he put all the pillows on the bed... It made me smile :)

Hooray for Summer...

I am officially done with school, for now atleast. Yesterday was my last day. My finals went well, and now I am eagerly waiting for my clinical board results. And cross our fingers, if I pass I will be on my way to being an official RDH (registered dental hygienist). Today was my first day home in a long long while and I don't know what to do with myself. Nathan and I went on a long walk to grandma and grandpa Holste's, we fed the ducks along the way, we played at the park, fished with grandpa, and then grandpa took us on a boat ride to the other side of the lake so we didn't have to walk all the way home. Then when Nathan went down for his nap I did some yard work. What a productive day and it's only 3:30.

Well since I will have more time on my hands I hope to update my blog more frequently. Hooray for summer!
