Charming the Ladies

Image
Trevor has been taking guitar lessons from Grandpa (my dad) Both parties are thrilled about it.  My dad is in heaven making a mini version of himself, while Trevor loves all of the attention, and if he practices each week and gets 10 stars, he gets a prize!  It's been a couple of weeks and he's still going strong!  A few days ago, Mason was taking a nap, and Trevor was bored.  He heard our neighbor girls playing outside.  He immediately grabbed his guitar and his stool and headed out the door!  He tells them, I play the guitar now and begins to play his song, "The Enisie Weensie Spider."  When I told my dad about this incident, he looked at Trevor and said, "That's exactly what playing the guitar is for!"  Love it!

The Doughnut Incident

Image
This post is long over due! This incident happened a few months ago. So.... Mason has discovered the doughnut section in our local grocery store, every time we go, he begs for a due-nut as he calls them. So I was feeling like a nice mommy, and i got him one. He was eating it in the car on the way home, in the middle of eating it he fell asleep. I thought this was cute, so I took his picture with my phone. We I went to get him out, he woke up, but he was still pretty delirious. I had moved the doughnut before I went to grab him out of his car seat. So when he woke up, he grabbed at his foot, thinking it was the doughnut and tried to bring it to his mouth to eat it. He kept saying, due-nut, due-nut. and He grabbed for his foot about 3 times before it registered that his foot was not the doughnut. It was pretty funny!

Trevor's all time favorite shirt

Image
Trevor loves this shirt. He likes the Orange, and he likes the Robot Dog. He saw it in the store about a year ago, and just HAD to have it, he usually doesn't care too much about what I buy for him, but like I said he HAD to have it. So I bought it, and now he wears it every chance he gets. I think he would wear it everyday if I let him. It cracks me up.

Resolving to be a better blogger

Image
We had an exterior hard drive to back up our files form Shaun's laptop. Shaun's laptop crashed, when we got a new computer, I never put the files from our exterior hard drive on to the new computer, and now the exterior hard drive is messed up! It's possible that we lost all of the pictures we took from 2006-2008! This includes all of Trevor's first two years!

Thankfully I was diligent about blogging, and I have all of the pictures I posted! But still I am heart broken. I've been going through each picture and saving it to my new computer, just in case. It's actually been pretty fun walking down memory lane. I have been laughing my head off at the cute things Trevor said when he was two, that I completely forgot about. There are so many things I have forgotten, and I'm so glad that I blogged about them! So, now I am feeling guilty for not keeping up, especially now that Mason is in that wonderful stage of life where he says the funniest things.

Like today when we were leaving somewhere, Mason wanted to sit in the seat in between the two car seats. I told him he had to sit in his car seat to be safe. And he said, "Because a dinosaur outside?"

I am resolving now to do better! Wish me luck. I will probably be back dating a few posts to catch myself up.

A friend of mine had some extra tickets for the water park in Ojai. We had a blast! It was foggy and cold in Carpinteria, we drove 20 mins to Ojai, and it was sunny and gorgeous.

ImageGiant earthworm! Mason made it his pet and carried it around everywhere, of course he had killed it, but that didn't stop him. He called it his snake.

The first week of July, we went to Heber City, Utah for a Cheney Family Reunion. It was fun and relaxing. Every single person from the Alan/Lindann Cheney family was there, minus Alan(died 7/27/07) and Evan(nephew that lives with his dad). It was wonderful to all be together, and Heber City was gorgeous. We spent two days on the lake. The water was perfect, warm-ish and mostly glassy, and practically empty! It was amazing. I had a really hard time adjusting back to "real life" when we came home from that trip.

To break the trip up, we stayed in Las Vegas, in the Flamingo Hotel our first night out. It was great. Trevor and Mason LOVED the elevator. They had a really fun pool with water slides that we enjoyed, almost every 5 mins Trevor would say, "This is the best vacation ever!" and it was only our first day!

Ari took amazing photos of us all while we were there. We all dressed up vintage-y to try to match Lindann's house (pictures were her request, and Ari wanted to do something fun for her instead of taking boring-everyone-in-white-shirts pictures, and i'm so glad she made us do what we did, because they are phenomenal!) I will post the pictures she took of our family when I get the CD.

We had a fabulous 4th of July. We spent the day in Park City and rode the coaster down the mountain, which is my all time favorite thing to do there. Trevor got to jump on a giant trampoline. Mason got to ride one of the kiddie airplane rides. Then we went to Shaun's Uncle Robert's house in Midway and had a bbq, performed some fabulous skits, and had not one, but two amazing fireworks shows! Shaun and some of the other guys purchased fireworks and they gave us a show, before the "real" show that the city of Midway put on, which was amazing and we got to watch it from Robert's backyard.

Mason was absolutely fascinated with the fireworks, now, he takes sand, wood chips, just about anything, throws it in the air and shouts, look! fireworks!
