FRIENDS ONLY!

NOTE: I don't really use this journal anymore. I was very active for about 10 years but as fandom on LJ died down and now what's happening with the Russian owners I've stopped using it. I still keep the account for various communities I am in but that's it. If you're looking to 'friend' me send me a message and I'll tell you where you can find me elsewhere online! :) Also - I'm gradually going to be deleting my entries save for a few.

EDIT: **Also - because this, unfortunately, has happened in the past - please do NOT start arguments with other commenters on my LJ. Polite discussion is one thing; flames are another. I won't allow it on my comments pages. If you disagree with something someone has said there IS a polite way to discuss it and saying 'Dude, you're an idiot' is not the way. Also? Fighting about shipping is lame. Agree to disagree and all of that. They're just fictional characters who aren't going to have one thing to do with paying your bills, feeding your children or mowing your lawn. So there.

I've backed everything up to DW. I haven't quite decided if I'm deleting this entirely or just going to go and delete the majority of my entries. I've been here since August of 2002 - that's a lot of entries to delete!

Hi LJ!

So I'm taking a Corel Painter class and it's been a lot of fun. Some of my early efforts have been horrible but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. The past few days I've been playing around with making an image of Hogwarts.

I know it's not perfect and as I used a photograph as the base I'm worried it looks a bit TOO much like a photograph but I had fun doing it. I may still tweak it but since I really should be working on other projects it prob won't be until later. So in the meantime ... I thought I'd share. Meep ... Be kind! It's my first share ... LOL *wibbles*

It felt good to do something geeky & fandom related. All of the projects so far have been whatever the instructor wanted (things like, "paint a flower" or whatnot) so I enjoyed this. I miss HP!

So Christmas.

I have to go to Weight Watchers tomorrow and I really don't want to. I know I probably gained five pounds this week which would mean I've gained over half of the weight I've lost in the past year since she passed. Meh.

In happier news (really this is happier) My mom is feeling better physically. She's still tired a lot but she's much healthier than she was before she was in the hospital. It freaks me out to realize if I hadn't have gone over & saw her and then called the paramedics that she may not be alive right now. I get chills...

And I've taken up beading with a vengeance, my friends. I'm actually starting to get better, though really looking at some of the stuff I did six months ago I couldn't get much worse. LOL I've been experimenting with wire wrap which is a bit tricky because my eyesight isn't the greatest (I'm getting old - gasp!) and I'm all thumbs but I am determined to master it. It's pretty fun, actually. My mom is telling me to get an Esty site and I'm considering it. Those of you who have one do you have any recommendations? I need to get some displays so I can take proper photographs so that I already kind of know but any other recommendations? I have no idea what I'm doing ... lol.

I guess I'm done updating. One of these days I'll do an actual to God fannish entry ... I KNOW you're all just waiting for that, aren't you? Heh. ;-)

I think it's fair to say I'm going to be a big huge mess this time next week.

This was actually shot at Disneyland a week or so ago (I think - either that or it was 3 weeks ago - not sure, it was on the same card) but still - FIREWORKS. :D Happy Independence Day to all my fellow Americans! :D To all of my International friends - happy Monday? The new Star Tours is epic. Rode it twice and both times it was completely different. As someone who knew the old one's script by heart ("I know that its probably your first flight... and its mine too...") I was skeptical about revamping it, especially w/3D as I usually loathe 3D but I gotta say as time went on and everyone said how good it was I grew more and more excited to experience it....

It did not disappoint.

Heh, I also had fun playing the "Overheard at Disneyland" game... I so enjoy people watching. Heh. I overheard an older man asking these girls if they were Team Edward or Team Jacob and what exactly did that even mean. He got an earful- next time I saw him he looked kind of pained and I can only imagine he was wishing he hadn't asked. LMAO

Yes. I made some icons. They're really just crops as I didn't really feel like getting into anything too elaborate with these (and so they're not the greatest icons I've ever made ... ) and I adjusted the color on a few (because they looked blurry from the video mostly) but I thought I'd share. I may make a few more later - I'm getting sleepy.
