FIRE FIRE FIRE!!!
On Sunday, September 19th we had a scary experience with a fire too close to home! Bryan was out-of-town in D.C. for work so it was just me and the kids. I remember seeing smoke coming from the mountain behind our house at around 3:00pm. I thought it was kind of strange but didn't think much of it at that point. Within a couple of hours it was much larger but still at the top of the mountain so we really weren't worried. At around 7:00 the winds really picked up and the fire became uncontrollable and began moving very quickly down the mountain! It was at this point that homes started being evacuated. It was very scary! Fortunately the kids slept through most of it...I'll never forget what it looked like outside Kamden's window..it seemed (and looked) like the entire mountain was on fire! The whole house smelled like smoke and you couldn't go outside at all because it was so bad. We felt fortunate that we ended up 3 blocks outside the evacuation zone and were able to stay in our home. Yet the fire was still too close for comfort! By morning the incredible firefighters had the fire about 90% contained and miraculously only 4 homes were burned! What a blessing! The Lord was definitely watching out for our little city of Herriman!

Summer Update Continued...
Here are some more pics from this summer...
We've had more fun with trips to the pool, the zoo, our ward's Pioneer Day breakfast, Draper Days and Kamden and Logan's favorite pastime...finding and collecting snails from our backyard.
Just a short update on the happenings of our household: Kole will start school in 2 days, Kamden in just over a week..(but who's counting??) While it has been a fun summer, I am officially EXHAUSTED!!! These boys have worn me out!
Kamden is very exciting to be starting Kindergarten and neither one of them can wait to wear their new school clothes.
Logan is talking up a storm these days and continues to be the life of the party. We are convinced he thinks he is at least as old (and big) as his brothers.
Bryan got released from Young Mens and is now working with the 11-year-old scouts. Yeah! No more presidency meetings!

HOPPY EASTER!!!
These photos were taken last week..notice the light of the sun is present in the photos which is not the case today on this chilly Easter morn...will winter EVER end??? We just got finished having an Easter egg hunt IN THE HOUSE (will post pictures of that later)..I didn't really feeling like bundling up the kids or burying the eggs in the SNOW for that matter! The nice thing about today has been the wonderful Conference talks we have enjoyed and the time spent together. I especially enjoyed Elder Uchtdorf and Elder Holland's talks. And amazingly, the kids have been getting along for most of the day! That in itself is an Easter miracle...:)

Easter Eggs...The "easy" way???
So I bought this Easter egg dying kit that claimed to be easier/less messy than the usual dip/dunk kits...hmm...not so much! I will definitely stick to the old kind from now on! Lesson learned! At any rate, despite Logan having an Oscar-worthy tantrum because he couldn't be the one in charge of documenting the event (with my camera) the kids seemed to have a great time with this typical Easter tradition...
