The challenges retailers were facing
Back in 2014, we noticed a pattern in independent retail: great shops were being forced to compete with bigger players using tools that were clunky, separate and hard to trust day-to-day. The result was too much time spent fixing problems and not enough time serving customers.
Building a better way
Citrus-Lime actually started as a tech company in 1999. But after spotting that gap in Point of Sale for independents, we began building a complete retail platform designed around real shop-floor life.
Our founder, Neil McQuillan, combined a love of the outdoors with a background in software to create a system that tackles the everyday issues independent retailers face across cycle, outdoor, equestrian and running.
That became Cloud POS.

Where we are now
Today, Citrus-Lime is a leading supplier of cloud-based Point of Sale systems in the UK, with Cloud POS launching in America in 2022 and quickly being adopted by USA cycle retailers.
We find the same need shows up everywhere, supporting retailers across Europe and Australia. Wherever we work, retailers want the same thing, a system they can trust and reliable support that understands how their business really runs.
