The Office of Civil Rights Compliance (OCRC) works to ensure equal opportunity in education and employment for our faculty, staff and students and to assure compliance with Title VII, Title IX, the ADAAA and other civil rights-based legislation.

OCRC is responsible for handling reports of discrimination, harassment and sexual misconduct and for providing supportive measures, resources and options to impacted individuals.

Additionally, OCRC oversees sexual assault and harassment prevention and education efforts on campus, conducts climate surveys, reviews search processes and related workforce analysis reports.

  • Equal Opportunity
  • Prevention & Education

If you have questions about discrimination and protected classes, need a presentation to your student group or have an incident needing to be reported, we’re here to listen and provide support. Please let us know how we can best be of service to you.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month

The Office of Civil Rights Compliance has planned a variety of activities throughout the month of April to promote awareness around Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). If attending awareness-based workshops and exhibits, getting a free cupcake, picking up some SAAM swag items, or entering for a chance to win a Stanley water bottle sounds interesting to you, get involved with this year's SAAM events.

This is a image that has a teal background and reads "Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) April - 2026" with the Office of Civil Rights Compliance Logo under it. Next to this image in a line art of two individuals faces with the quote "together we act, united we change." under it.

April 2nd: We are hosting a Faculty and Staff Green Dot Workshop. This workshop is a bystander intervention program designed to prevent gender violence. The workshop will take place from 9am - 10am. Check out our Green Dot Instagram page (@greendot_uni) to sign up or go to the Green Dot page linked below.

April 7th: In the Union, OCRC will be tabling between 11:30 am - 12:30 pm for SAAM Day of Action. If you're interested in getting involved with supporting survivors of sexual assault, wear teal and stop by our table to get more information and free swag. Plus, if you get involved with our SAAM Day of Action awareness activity you will get your name put in a raffle to win a teal Stanley water bottle!

April 13th: The "What Were You Wearing" exhibit opens on April 13th. With the goal of challenging the harmful misconception that sexual assault is correlated to the clothing someone was wearing, this exhibit compiles the descriptions of outfits worn by survivors and their stories to illustrate that clothing is never related to an instance of sexual assault. For more information about the exhibit, check out the link below.

April 15th: To bring awareness to the "What Were You Wearing" exhibit, our office will be hosting an opening program in Rod Library. Between 1pm - 2pm. Stop by Rod Library to get SAAM related goodies and view the exhibit!

April 16th: We are hosting a Student Green Dot Workshop. The workshop will be from 4:30pm - 5:30pm. To sign up, checkout our Green Dot Instagram page (@greendot_uni) or check out the link below.

April 22nd: Student Wellness Services and OCRC are welcoming Dr. Matthew Vasquez to give a workshop overviewing trauma. The first 100 people will get a complimentary Wellness Kit. To learn more about trauma with Dr. Vasquez, please join us from 3pm - 6pm in Sabin Hall 002. To register for the event, please follow the link below or head to the OCRC Instagram (@uni_ocrc).

April 29th: OCRC will be tabling in the Union from 11am - 12pm to bring awareness to Denim Day. To show support for this nationally recognized day of advocacy, OCRC will be tabling with informational materials and swag items related to sexual assault awareness. We will also be handing out cupcakes to folks who stop by and are wearing denim. To learn more about Denim Day, check out https://Denimday.org.
