After i broke my hand,i fell out of the daily writing habit. That was years ago and still not writing. Time for me to divest myself of my fleet of typewriters. I’ll need to think of how i want to advertise and sell them.

i havea decent collection. Several Royal woodgrain portables, various cursive models and some ultra portables. If you have ideas on the best way to sell machines, let me know

So, I crushed my hand and wrist. Had surgery, but right hand still useless for the next few weeks. No prognosis yet on recovery. No typing for several more weeks at the minimum. 

I am really hating WordPress. I am using the iPad app and it is incredibly slow. I just typed out a nice long blog post and posted it. 

The app hung, but when it unfroze, it looked like I had accidently posted twice. There were two identical blog posts, each with a different posting time.
I deleted one.  A moment later, both were gone.
Arrggggg!

I start to write and get back into cleaning my typewriter collection and the next thing you know, I’ve bought two more.  
I acquired a Tower Attache with its beautiful briefcase (basically a Skywriter).  I was amazed at how well the Tower types.  I have an Adler Tippa 5, a MonkeyWard 440, and two S&C Super Ghia models, and the Tower is the best typing ultra-portable in my collection.

I went to see if I could get a standard Skywriter cover to work for it, when I don’t want to lug a briefcase along with me.  Ace Typewriter had one, but unfortunately, I would need to replace the knobs and carriage return lever to get it to work.

So, I did the next best thing. I bought a Skywriter off of EBay just a few minutes ago from someone here in Portland.  It should fit into the attache/briefcase just like the Tower does, and I’ll have the original metal cover.

I’m still trying to decide what I should use as my daily typer.  Something I can lug around in Portland’s misty rain, leave in my car, not worry about using in a coffeehouse and/or bars.  I’ve been using a tan/green Smith Corona Silent.  

It types great and I can get a good speed going on it, but I think it’s fairly ugly and heavy to lug around.

If I’m going to carry something heavy, I was thinking about using my S&C Tuxedo Silent.  It looks far classier, types just as well (if not better) than my tan model, and is far far quieter.

It’s been awhile since I posted anything. It’s been a rough year, with far too much drama and angst to really get into.

National Novel Writing Month (NANOWRIMO) is starting up in a couple of weeks. I had been planning on selling some of my collection off but procrastination is my tragic flaw.

I’m planning on selling:

A Royal Arrow, converted into a USB Keyboard. It is still a fully functional typewriter, but you can plug in tablets, ipads, ipad minis, newer smartphones and computers.

An original Royal Portable in black, also converted into a USB keyboard. A beautiful model.

A Montgomery Ward Signature 440T. An all plastic body typewriter that is lightweight and a solid typer. This one has an Elite typeface.

Possibly some Smith Coronas. I was thinking of a Silent, a Sterling, and maybe a Cursive Classic 12.

I’ve got several Royal Portable Woodies, and might be selling one or two of them.

By the way, I’ve thought about it, and that is a very cheap prize. I’m going to throw in a couple of sheets of carbon paper too.
