Ok. I'm sick of Cox cable. Dish-Network or DirectTV. Which should I go with? I have an HDTV and I do want the DVR. Premium movie channels like HBO aren't necessary for this analysis. What do you all think? | | Friday, February 13th, 2009 | | 9:13 am |
Business Name
My GF, is looking to start a new business. I snagged this from her LJ and figured I'd cross post and utilize some of my more "creative" friends to see if they have any ideas. Cross posted from imoceanboundI am getting ready to apply for my business licenses and need help coming up with a unique business name that also describes my service. I want it to be general enough to include other services or products at a later date. My business will be a consulting firm to help companies be more competitive in the global market space through the following: Improving business processes, implementing lean manufacturing concepts, identifying and securing lower cost materials or logistics, automating business processes, and implementing management information systems. The longer term services offered will include helping companies penetrate international markets either through new product introduction or outsourcing. Country risk analysis, market analysis, barriers to entry, local and regional regulations, identifying total lowest source of supply by region, etc. Any suggestions? Some of the suggestions I have already been given include: Stratetgic Business Solutions Business Innovations The Competitive Edge Strategic Enhancements I tend to be more logical than creative, so I really need some help here.... :-) | | Friday, January 9th, 2009 | | 11:30 am |

Today was the first day in a long time that Joyce and I weren't car pooling and I didn't have to drop off or pick up Sam. I took advantage. I pulled her out of the garage, checked her fluids and tire pressure, filled what needed to be filled, started her up, and off I went. Felt good to ride the motorcycle to work again. When you see this, post in your own journal with your favorite quote from The Princess Bride. Preferably not "As you wish" or the Inigo Montoya speech."You use that word a lot. I do not think it means what you think it means." | | Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008 | | 11:05 am |

Rules: Post five things you've done that you believe nobody else on your F-list has done. Indulge in remorse if someone calls you out on a listed item. 1. I've played in the World Series of Poker. 2. Been the only male in a sorority. 3. Performed in the half time show of both a Giants game and a Patriots game in the same season. 4. Played with the New England Conservatory Jazz Band. 5. Had Ben and Jerry's ice cream from the original gas station. | | Sunday, June 22nd, 2008 | | 9:13 pm |

This is an interesting alternative to cremation.Quote that really annoys me: "We believe this process, which enables a portion of human remains to be flushed down a drain, to be undignified," said Patrick McGee, a spokesman for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Manchester.THEN DON'T PAY FOR TO HAVE YOUR REMAINS TAKEN CARE OF IN THAT WAY AND PUSH UP THE DAISY'S YOU SANCTIMONIOUS TWIT! Just because you don't find it dignified doesn't mean that it is wrong. You should have every right to have your body interred the way you want, and I should have every right to have mine interred the way I want. Get YOUR religion out of OUR government!!! *Gets off soap box* | | Monday, April 21st, 2008 | | 10:11 am |
I did me good deed for the day...
Over the weekend I got an envelope from Wachovia, whom I used to have my car loan with till I ported it over to my current bank. I open the envelope, and inside is a check made out to a couple that lived in California. So I called Wachovia and after 3 tries of dealing with their automated system, finally got on the phone with a representative. Gave them my old account information and explained what happened. Took a few tries to explain to the poor girl that I was NOT the person that received the check, and that I hadn't received my over payment check either, which I had no idea was coming to me in the first place. Finally she realized that the checks got switched and put me on hold to talk to a supervisor to figure out what I should do with said check. In the end, they stopped payment on it and asked me if I could shred it and throw it away, which I did, and they are re-issuing my check and will be calling the other couple to make arrangements to get them their check. Considering the date on the check is February 29th, I think the other couple is going to be quite pissed. Oh well. I did my good deed. Now I have to wait to be punished for it. | | Friday, April 4th, 2008 | | 9:04 am |
