Senior Ceph Engineer | Kubernetes & Rook (m/f/d, full-time & remote)

We’re looking for an experienced Ceph Engineer to join our growing distributed team and play a key role in the design and operations of the storage infrastructure of our cloud platform – c12n.cloud

About the Role:

As a Ceph Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building, scaling, and maintaining highly available Ceph clusters, integrated with Kubernetes via Rook. You’ll work on real production environments used by customers across industries, ensuring the performance, reliability, and resilience of their data storage.

You’ll collaborate closely with other engineers, DevOps specialists, and architects to deliver secure, scalable, and future-proof infrastructure solutions — all using open-source tools and platforms.

What You’ll Do:

  • Architect, upgrade and maintain tens of Ceph clusters with Rook.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Ansible and Helm.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance, availability, and scaling issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in cloud-native infrastructure.

    • What You Bring:
  • 5 + years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
  • Deep hands-on experience with Ceph in production environments at PB scale
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and particularly of Rook operator
  • Excellent Linux system administration skills and scripting abilities
  • Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana
  • Fluency in English and strong communication skills
  • Bonus: Experience with OpenStack, contributing to open-source projects, or working with cloud-native CI/CD pipelines

    Senior DevOps Engineer - Openstack (m/f/d, full-time & remote)

    We are inviting a Senior DevOps Engineer to join us in the development of a private Cloud infrastructure based on Kubernetes and Openstack.

    Responsibilities include maintenance and automation of Kubernetes and Openstack services running on top; implementation of new features based on requirements and feedback as well as continuous integration and deployment to multiple regions.

    About YOU

  • Experienced with Openstack and Cloud architectures (3-5 years).
  • You would like to work with private Cloud, containers and distributed architectures.
  • Able to manage multiple Kubernetes clusters and perform k8s upgrades.
  • Always develop automation instead of doing things manually.
  • Have good knowledge and experience with Python.
  • Further stack includes Gitlab, Argo, Prometheus, ELK, Traefik, Terraform, Ansible, Helm, RabbitMQ, Ubuntu, CentOS.
  • You are able to write and communicate well in English.

    • Nice to have:

    Experience with Openstack upstream community, accepted PRs.
