My Little Mouse

This here is my absolutely FAVORITE face that Payton does. He is quite the serious Dude! He always has his brow furrowed, but he sure is cute! He looks just like a little mouse! He is such a joy still, especially in the middle of the night when he is WIDE awake, and we can't get him to fall asleep! No, even that isn't that bad. He just has a little bit of what my mother calls "Heaven Lag." Hopefully he'll learn soon that when it is DARK is when we are supposed to sleep! But until then, I guess we will just have to enjoy him in the middle of the night! We sure love him, and I think that we will keep him!

Time for an Update!

Hello all...I thought that it was time for an update...after all, Payton is now a week and a day old! He is such a has-been! Seriously, he is the biggest joy to our family! Lincoln pretty much stays out of his way, except for when Payton squeeks or something, and Lincoln runs over to him, says "HI PAYTON!!....OH CUTE!!!" It is so funny! He loves his younger brother. Lincolns new things now is that he goes around the house singing Christmas Songs...his Grandma B taught him our favorite one while she was here, and it goes a little something like this..."Wed it know, wed it know, wed it know!" To be sung at the top of your lungs. We sure are liking this 2 kids stuff! Now we don't have to fight over who is going to change the poopy diaper, but WHICH poopy diaper do we want to change! Ahh, the joys of parenthood...here's some new pics of the little whippersnapper.
ImageLincoln thought it was HILARIOUS when I brought Payton in to wake him up one morning...today he wanted me to put some blankets over the two of them in the crib to make a Hut...so dang cute! By the way, Lincoln is HUGE!!!!
ImagePhoto shoot, and Lincoln was a STINKER! He would NOT sit for the camera...what can you do!
ImageWhat a babe! Who doesn't love a newborn with crosseyes sometimes! I love it!

He's here!!! Payton Miles Smith came out screaming at 7:50 am. He weighed in at 7lbs 9 ounces, 20 1/2 inches tall/long and a head size of 13 1/2 inches. He is a perfect little boy and couldn't wait to start eating. This is Cole reporting, so I'll keep it short and let Mindy take over in a day or two, until then, enjoy the pictures.Image

My Friend Max

No, we have not had the baby yet, but we sure are excited for Friday morning when we do go in! I thought I would just post a few pics before they get discarded and never seen again! These are just too cute to pass up! We will be keeping you all updated on the baby though when he arrives on Friday morning!

So, when Lincoln was born, Cole and I bought him this little stuffed Dog, and it has been in his crib forever. But just recently, well, actually since we took his binkie away, Lincoln is quite attached to this little dude! Yesterday morning, I went in to get Lincoln up for the morning, and he had a stinky diaper. I walked in and said "Woah! Are you stinky?" He then proceeded to try and convince me that it wasn't HIM that was stinky, but that Max had a stinky diaper! It was so dang cute! So we had to go in and put a new diaper on Max. Luckily, we have some small ones on hand for the baby, so that worked out perfectly! Lincoln thought it was SO funny! Then the rest of the day, Max had to do just what Lincoln was doing. We gave Lincoln a hair cut, and had to pretend to give Max one too, Max ate Macaroni with us for lunch, he rode on Lincolns car all day, and my favorite, hence all the pictures, was that we took Max on a walk, and he rode on Lincolns shoulders the WHOLE time! It was SO cute! This is a cute little bugger...we can't wait to see what the next one looks like in 2 days! YEAH FOR BABIES!

Image
Seriously, you can't get any cuter than this! He was SO proud to carry Max on his shoulders.

He thought it was SUPER cool that he could be on OUR shoulders, and be carrying Max at the same time! What a stud.

And HERE'S MAX!!!!

Putting up the Christmas Tree

I know that many of you think that I am crazy, but I have a baby to get ready for! So the day after Thanksgiving, we went out and got our Christmas tree! It was so much fun! Lincoln loved putting up the tree, and Cole even put the lights on this year! I usually end up having to do it, because I am funny about my Christmas lights, but Cole did a GREAT job! It's his new job! :) Here are some pics of us decorating...

Lincoln had a hard time, but he got it after a while! He didn't quite understand what was so cool about putting things on a tree, but he sure loves give the tree a DRINK!!!

SUCCESS!!!

So, we had a very successful Thanksgiving day here in Denver! Since I am about to pop, we can't really travel, so we decided to have Thanksgiving here at our house with a few good friends that we have met here in Denver. We had Chris and Anna Gordon- a couple from our ward- Brian, Jami, Brinely and Matt McDonald- Brian goes to school with Cole- and a few of the missionaries over and it was SO much fun! The biggest news to report though is that I COOKED THE TURKEY! Yes, I know all of you think that it is way easy, and hard to mess up, but I was very nervous. I have never cooked a turkey before, so I was kind of worked up about how it was going to turn out. I mean, the turkey IS Thanksgiving! How would it be if I messed up so bad we couldn't eat it! I am reminded of the show "Christmas Vacation" where they are having Christmas dinner and someone says "Wow, if this turkey tastes half as good as it looks, we're in for a REAL treat!" They then proceed to cut the turkey, and it poofs into oblivion with nothing inside! So I was a little bit nervous, but it all worked out GREAT!
After dinner while the kids napped, we played a MAD game of Settlers of Cataan- Cole and I had never played, so it was interesting for us to learn! I might add that I was in SECOND place! I would have won, but Jami stole the game the turn before mine! Good game Jami!
It was a VERY fun day, and we have much to be thankful for. Now that thanksgiving is done (Bummer-we love this holiday!), we can focus on this little baby coming in ONE WEEK! YEAH! I can hardly believe that it is here, yet I have been up since 4:30 because of the little kickboxer!
We hope that you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving, and that you had much to be thankful for. We know that we did!

Here's the ONLY belly shot you are going to get! I don't like to take pictures of myself-especially 9 months pregnant! But Anna is pregnant too- you can't even TELL! She is like 6 months along- so I blow her out of the water with the belly size!

TAG- I Guess I'M it!!

So, I thought I was getting out of this tag thing, but a lifetime friend (Michelle Sadler) finally caught me! Maybe it is because I am 9 months pregnant, and she is faster than me now! :) Oh, come on! I thought it was funny! I think EVERYTHING is funny, and then I usually end up crying about it, because my hormones are RAGING! Anyways...here's the rules!

RULES:
1.The player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves - try to find 6 you haven't already posted about!
2. At the end of the post, the player tags 6 people and posts their names, and then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment, letting them know they have been tagged and asking them to read.

1- I am a FANATIC about my freshly made bed! It is one of Cole's FAVORITE things to do is to jump on my bed right after I have made it and to mess it up! I don't know what it is! Maybe it is because I was a housekeeper for a time at a hotel, but I think it is because there was a certain someone in college that was always in my room and hygiene wasn't the most important thing in her life, and she didn't smell very
good (Bless her heart...she really is a WONDERFUL person whom I love)- but she was always lying on my bed and ruffling it all up and stuff, and it really bothered me, and it has carried on to today! Weird, I know!

2- I just woke up from a 2 1/2 hour nap! Bless Lincoln for being able to sleep so long for his naps, otherwise, I would crumple up on the floor and wilt! I don't take naps usually, but when I am pregnant, LOOK OUT WORLD- I love a good nap! Nothing like my friend Jenn-y's 5 hour naps she used to take on Sundays in College, but I can hold my own pretty well.

3- I HATE most vegetables! Cole has to seriously force me to eat them! I just don't know how anyone can like stuff like that! But I am getting better. I can't do like raw broccoli, but I can finally do it cooked with lots of salt and pepper and stuff like that on it! I am weird like that, and my mother LOVES vegetables, so it isn't her fault! But I am afraid that it IS my fault that my son doesn't like them! So I have to get back on the band wagon and start eating my greens...fruit is just SO much yummier- don't you think?

4- Being pregnant is NOT my favorite thing, although I would have to admit that this second pregnancy has been MUCH kinder to me than the first was! I have gained less weight, HALLELUIA, been less sick, and just have had much less aches and pains! So I really haven't minded being pregnant this long! I am just SO anxious to see how this new little baby is going to look! Is he going to look like Lincoln? Is he going to look totally different and surprise us with brown hair and brown eyes? Is he going to be huge like Lincoln or is he going to come out like a good little boy like the majority of the babies? C-sections are hard for me- I am kind of a wuss that way! Hard recovery I guess...but I am really not looking forward to the pain of labor either, so I guess I have to pick my poison! Anyways, the good news of all of this is I LOVE BABIES. So I guess you can do anything for a little cherub in your life right?

5- WOW THIS IS HARD!!! Pregnant brain is getting me, and I can't think of much! I have a fetish with office supplies just like Ann-Marie Wood! (Friend from high school) Cole thinks I am SUPER weird, and makes fun of me all of the time! I don't know what it is...maybe because I was a school teacher, maybe because I was just a stellar student! (Oh wait, that isn't right!) But I get a RUSH going through like the office supply isle at Costco, or the grocery store, or don't even get me STARTED with like an office max or something! I LOVE school stuff! I love a good new pen, and it shows. We have about 400000000000000 pens around our house, and I am actually quite protective of them! I don't know why...I have the same problem with Lincoln's childrens books. I just love to have them all nice and neat, and having a toddler is really testing my patience in this aspect! Cole thinks it is HILARIOUS! Again, weird I know!

6-Okay, I wasn't going to confess this, but I already listen to Christmas music, and have been for quite some time! CHRISTMAS IS THE BEST! It is my favorite holiday for sure! I LOVE the feeling that surrounds Christmas. Not the shopping, and getting all the stuff ready hullabaloo- but the feeling that we are celebrating our Saviors birth! I LOVE to get out all of the Christmas decorations, which we are DOING the day after Thanksgiving thank you very much! I love the smells of christmas, how nice everyone always is (for the most part unless you get them too close to Christmas and they don't have their holiday shopping done!) IT is just a magical time for me, and I am always SO sad when it is over! I start thinking about Christmas on the 2nd of January...pathetic I know! That doesn't mean that I am one of those on the ball gals with their shopping done in July! But I do have to give myself a nice pat on the back...I am DONE with my Christmas shopping for this year! Well, all but one present. I have to be though, because with this baby coming so soon, I don't think that I will be able to get anything done after he comes, and I don't really WANT to! So props to me! Tooty-toot-toot! (Me tooting my own horn-it never gets to happen, so lets take advantage of when it can!) Anyways, a few random things, from a very random person!

Tagging people...Court(because she never replied to the last tag she got-this isn't t.v. tag you know where you can just get out of it by shouting out Who's the Boss!) Melissa Godfrey (welcome to the blogging world!) Charlyn Ames, Marianne Denney, Michelle Guy- a fabulous new mother!, and Olivia Booth! Also welcome to the blogging world!

COOKIE THIEF!!!

So Lincoln and I made Halloween sugar Cookies the other day, and he ate SO many! He is like his daddy and LOVES sugar. So I put a veto on him eating any more cookies! Cole came home and we were chatting in the other room, and Cole went into the kitchen, of course to get HIMSELF a cookie, and this is what he found! NOOO! Lincoln is tall enough to reach the counter now! But he just went ahead and helped himself to some cookies. Cute little critter! And yes, this is how he is usually dressed at night after he has covered himself in his breakfast and lunch, dirt from everywhere that he can find, markers, and just about everything else that he comes across! We sure love this kid! He needs a brother don't you think! Me too!

House for Rent

So, the worst happened. Our renters found a house that they want to buy, so they are going to be moving! AHHHHH!!! So- we have a house that is for rent in the Foxboro Neighborhood in North Salt Lake. We would LOVE to rent it to someone that we know, so if anyone is interested, please call me, and we could talk about it! Here are some pictures of the house. IT is SO cute. It is 3 bed/2 bath with an attached 2 car garage. It is 1250 square feet, and is all on one floor. It is quite spacious, and has lots of upgrades throughout the house! If you are interested, or know of anyone who is, please call, or e-mail me. My phone number is 801-971-9481 and my e-mail address is [email protected]. Thanks so much for your help everyone!!

Happy Halloween!!!!

We have had LOTS of fun Halloween festivities to participate in, and have a plethora of pictures to share! We love our little Dragon! He isn't the best poser, so we didn't get many good shots, but he was cute nonetheless! The funnest part about this last week was that Cole's mother and father came out to visit us! YEAH! It was SO much fun. We tried to get Rockies tickets, but to no avail. So we sadly watched them LOSE in the comfort of our own home, but that is alright. We had fun watching them anyways!
