Because Randy had to work christmas day, we ended up opening presents early Christmas Eve. The kids ended up getting way too much stuff as always and everyone was way too generous. We got Jay a back pack and Jenny a night light. Santa brought a soccer goal and soccer ball. Now Jenny can play with her own pink ball! Cort didn't get anything this year...I guess he was naughty. :) At any rate it was awesome. Jenny got a glove, hat scarf combo from Papa and Nana and she wouldn't take it off all day. She looked like a little bag lady. She even slept in it! Jay played with his tornado lab all day.

Christmas Eve 2011
Christmas was awesome this year. Randy's parents came up and along with his brothers and sisters so we had the whole family here. His brother Sam just got released from his mission a few days before so the Walkers were able to pick him up in Salt Lake. At the same time Randy's sister Karen and her family moved to Utah. (Mike, Randy's Dad helped drive them up.)We were also joined by his sister Laura and her husband Shaun. With Kevin and Jessie and My sister Cassidee, it made for a big crowd. Christmas Eve we had a yummy dinner and them did a mini program. We talked a little about Mary, Joseph and the Christ child and then had the kids dress up Nativity style. Jensen was Mary, Jay a Shepard, Cort baby Jesus, Lizzy a donkey, Adam was Joseph and Calvin was an angel. We then read the story from Luke. Afterwards we decorated sugar cookies and opened presents from each other. My favorite part was at the very end where we sang Christmas carols. We sounded like a real choir with all the parts! Jesse played the piano and we all could have done it for hours if we didn't have to tend to our kids. It was super fun.

Cort-6 Months
Weight 14.4 lbs. 4.27 %
Height 25.75 in 22.96 %
Head 16.77 in 17.99%
Cort is doing so well. He just had all his shots and he is such a trooper. We are working with him on sitting up, but he likes to roll like crazy. He is smiling and laughing a lot and he is super ticklish. When he is ready to fall asleep he is really fussy and then all the sudden passes out. Then, he is like a little zombie. Or Zom- bay- be as Jay would say.

My first food!
Cort LOVED his rice cereal. He is getting so chunky and I love it. Of course, it helps when you are not throwing up 90% of what you eat. He is such a happier baby and I am just now starting to feel like I am am getting my life back. I can put him on the floor for 10 or 15 min. and he won't scream the whole time. It is amazing! ( Don't you just want to kiss that double chin!)

Family Pics
Here are a few teasers. You will have to wait for Christmas for the family pic. My sister in law Jessie took these shots for us. She is AWESOME. We didn't get a whole lot of individuals because, lets face it, it was freezing and I had to bribe Randy to even to do it in the first place (so we had to keep it as short as possible.)

Sum up
The holidays are coming, which means less and less time I am sitting at my computer documenting everything. I feel I have been really bad at it lately because 3 kids keep me a little busier than planned. I have these moments in my head where I think, "Remember this." And then it leaves my mind never to be thought of again. I wanted to jot a few things down.

"Get more Mama" Anytime I am done eating anything
Jay-
Has been spending some time going over to friends houses. This is kinda new for him, but he is right at that age where he never wants to be home. He was over at his friends house and they raked some leaves. Right there they decided that they wanted to rake leaves for everyone in the neighborhood. (Wouldn't that be nice.) After they finished the first pile they rethought that decision.
Cort-
He is so smiley. He has had a few bowel issues lately, but I think the cocktail we have been using to mix up his bottle is now working. A scoop of regular formula, a scoop of AR formula and then a probiotic. He also has about 4oz of apple prune juice. Yum. He is rolling all over and I am looking forward to him sitting up.
Rans-
Works. He has a friend ( Mike) who he works with who is recovering from a stroke/brain bleed. He has been in a coma for 2 weeks and just recently woke up. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. It has been really hard on Randy and he is doing a good job of still pressing forward.
Me-
The usual. Got a haircut/color, that's pretty exciting for me. Got a flu shot, that's not very exciting for me. I also got a physical because I haven't had one in over 10 years. I have high cholesterol...add it to the list. Busy trying to get creative for a poor Christmas this year. The good news is that I think we are all in the same boat. I went and saw "Breaking Dawn" and that just about sums up the excitement in my life.

5 Month Corters

Weight 13.34 lbs 6%
length 23.9 inches 3%
Head 16.3 inches 14%
Cort has been through a lot. We ended up taking him to a GI specialist. He then had a stool sample and an upper barium GI done. We finally ended up giving him a formula with added rice so he wouldn't spit up as much. He was able to do better on it and gain a little weight. We are monitoring him to make sure he is on track. We have the hardest time getting him to nap. He normally doesn't sleep for longer then 20-30 minutes. He also wants me to hold him all day, such a Mama's boy.

Halloween
This year the kids were exactly what they were last year. That's just how it ended up. We did have to buy Jay a new Darth Vader costume because his other one would have been capris. So, it was kinda nice to not have to think of anything new.We went to Kelly's ward trunk or treat (We have for the past 3 years) and then on actual Halloween we went over to The Carpenters for home made soup and trick or treating. We had a blast and Jensen practically wanted to sleep with her candy bucket. She wouldn't let it out of her site.

Funny Kids#2
Jay-We went to the fire station to visit Randy and Jay brought his legos to build something with him. After a little bit we said, "Jay you are so lucky that you get to go to Dad's work and build Legos with him. That is really lucky because most kids don't get to do that." Then he said, " Yeah, cause not all kids have Legos."
Jay-"I want to be a grown up right now so I can be a storm chaser!"
Me-"But, you don't even like it when it rains?"
Jay- "Tornadoes don't produce rain,Mom."

Here are a few more shots of the kids at the museam. Jay's favorite part was pretending to be a weather man.
