Well I got the job on Pebble Beach, that is where I have been this whole time. Its nothing glamorous just a security job, and I have been pulling double shifts. I am old, 30, and I am not used to pulling double shifts on my feet. I was a computer programmer for about 6-7 years so standing on my feet the whole day gives me chin splints. But it is a job, and I need that for now. Hopefully, I can get back into the swing of things, but I find myself really tired when coming home.

Well I went to a job conference there is a big golf event taking place here in the next month, the AT&T Pro-AM, in Pebble Beach. I am hoping to get the security guard position, and hopefully they put me out back somewhere where I can just relax be alone, and look at all the rich people's car :)

I also had a nice gig working for Imaged4b it was some clerical work, but it was great he offered it to me, and he paid me well. This whole job thing is taking forever, darn the unemployment rate here in the states, and the fact that anything a company can offshore they will..."programmers". Hopefully, I can get back on track updating my journal and replying to friends!

Had a good interview this morning with my local newspaper, they have a technician position open, but they are looking for someone with a lot of alphabets at the end of their name. I never really saw the need for certification, just because most of them are just book smart. I always thought the real smarts is all that matters.

I got an interview with a wireless dealer in the evening I hope that goes well, maybe get a free phone! Also my good friend Imaged4b has set me up with a clerical job which I appreciate.

I also just picked up my son after the morning interview so I am back to "Happy" Sam :) I will check up on everyone later, got to eat, do some work for David, and get ready for my next interview.

Wow has it been 4 days since I last updated my journal? Sorry everyone, have been hitting the job boards and streets hard looking for a new job. That is kind of important now. But I will be leaving updates now and then, because I don't want my friends to feel as if I am gone. I have some good inside leads to an MIS Manager and programmer job, both seperte jobs. I am hoping that the programming job works out as I love to code! Its my favorite past time. I will let everyone know how the interview goes, which I have lined up for Thursday.

My son is currently with his mom, visiting her mom, about 5 hours North from where we live. I hope he comes back soon, as I have been missing him for oh so much. I am going to try and catch up on my friends journals' tonight, again, sorry guys but I hope to be back into the swing of things shortly!

Another uneventful day. Did the usual, walked in the morning had breakfast. I decided to hold off job hunting today until tomorrow, since the Sunday papers always have more open jobs in them. Hoping next week brings me better "luck". My son and I just slept all day, and this is the first time I turned on the computer today. Just finished dinner, and thinking of watching "Finding Nemo" with him, but he is busy playing Advance Wars 2 on his Gameboy Advance SP. Once he starts there is no way to get him off. I will check out the job boards just in case anything was posted today.

Just got up a little "groggy", but I am excited and exstatic to end my dry spell. I am throwing on my clothes and going out for a walk! Even though it is drizzling and cold... I am going to do this! Now if I can just get my sweats on ... :)

Got back from dinner, it was meatballs and garlic bread, from Costco it was very good. Oh, there was home made mash potatos but I am to "fast food"-itized as I found it didn't taste right. As usual nothing special happened and my son and I are about to hit the sack. He's still on vacation, man they have like a 4 week winter break. The joys of being in 1st grade :)

This stinks! I am working on some new coding for a tank game, and my IDE, Visual Studio .NET 2002, keeps crashing on me! Grrr... I need to shut this computer off and figure out how to fix it, as this is the most important application on my system. I do not want to do a reinstall, or reinstall Windows XP over the top. Must get air... must think...

Also have to get ready to goto a friend's house for dinner. Mmmmm... he just moved into a new home with his wife, and they are eager to show it off. I hope they have good food!

Hmm... It has been two days in a row I missed out on walking. I better get my butt in gear as I am a rather deep procrastinator. I have developed procrastination into an art form were you no longer feel guilty about doing it, because you are able to rationalize on the spot.

Back to job hunting I may have to do what my friend Imaged4b suggested and take a simple job at first, I also got to still read that book he told me about. The computer industry, programming specifically, is getting hit hard with all this offshoring. Better to have some sort of job now, then nothing at all. I have to check my bank statements and see how long I can live off of my current savings, a month ago I estimated two more months at $2K/month. I have another mutual fund, worth about $9K, that I don't want to cash out, just because I don't know how to save, I am an impulsive spender, and I don't think I can save that much again when I do go back to work.

Picked up my son this morning, so I am now back in "happy" land. Well off to search through the local classifieds and job boards as has been my habit for the last couple of months.

Uneventful day I spent most of it helping a friend out by babysitting their baby. Makes me thankful that my son is 6. Writing some tutorials now on how to use the TORQUE, http://www.garagegames.com, game engine. So going to dig into that deeply now, and hit the sack, and pick up my son in the morning. Oh my ex-wife figured out how to use her dial-up internet and instant messaging stuff so now I can hear her all the time! :|
