Here you can ask for help on how to achieve a certain coloring on any graphic. Nothing else.

A link to the un-edited/not colored original image/screencap: If you have the original un-edited image, post a link to it here, so we can compare the colored version to the not colored version, and try to figure out what has been done to the image to give it that specific coloring.

(OR) A different image I want to color(this is not the original): IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE ORIGINAL IMAGE(S) YOU HAVE TO post a link to a image(s) YOU want to apply this coloring to, it can be whichever image(s) you want, as long as you provide a picture for people to experiment on when they try to help you.

If you don't provide a link to at least one image you want to apply the coloring(s) to, original image or other, we will delete/not approve your post.

What you SHOULD DO when you POST a question:

+ You can ask for help on how to achieve a certain coloring on any graphic.

+ Use the posting template shown above. Simply copy and paste it into your post, and fill it out.

+ Always use an LJ-cut when posting any image that is BIGGER than 400px high and/or 400px wide, and more than 4 (four) 100x100 images/icons should be behind a lj-cut. All posts that defy this rule will be deleted/rejected immediately, without warning!

This is an LJ-cut:

+ Use the default font and size and color. Don't change the font size to like 4 or 5, or change the font color to pink, orange, blue, gray, green ect. Leave it as it is, because people have different layouts on their journals, and they will view your post here in that style, so editing the text too much is going to mess up how people view it, and make it difficult for people to read your question.

+ From November 1st 2010 this will no longer be allowed here at coloring_help

Commenting to an entry asking:

Here is my result (coloring sample), let me know if you would like to see a tutorial on how I got this.
(sample) Are you interested?
(sample) Want it?
(sample) Tell me if you like this and I'll post the tutorial...
And any other version of this question.

If you want to help someone, post the whole tutorial with a sample together in one comment. Do not just show them a sample of your result and ask if they are interested.

If you comment and ask people this from now on you will get 1 warning.
If you continue defying this rule after the 1st warning you will be banned for 1 week.
The 3rd warning = banned for 2 weeks
The 4th warning = banned of a month
and so on.

+ If you know who made the icon or graphic, ASK THE MAKER FOR TIPS FIRST! If you don't get an answer after 1 week, or the maker don't remember how they did it, then you can ask here.

+ Be polite and say "Thank you" when someone tries to help you by replying to your post. This is just common courtesy, and takes two seconds to do.

What you SHOULD NOT DO when you POST a question:

+ DO NOT ASK FOR A .PSD/Action! .PSDs/Actions are not allowed in any shape or form. All posts with a mention of .PSDs//Actions will be deleted immediately, and you will get a warning, 2 or more warnings and you will be banned from this community!!

This means:

Do not ask for a .PSD//Action when you post a coloring question.
Do not say "PM me if you want the .PSD//Action"
Do not say "I'll send you the .PSD//Action in a minute"
ect...

Basically, do not use the word ".PSD" or "Action" at all.

+ Do not spam. Limit your posts to 1(one) pr. week. Collect all the icon/graphics you want to learn the coloring of, and post them all in one post. ONE POST PR. WEEK (1 week = 7 days).

+ Do NOT "members lock" (Show this entry to: members) your post. If you do, ONLY members here will be able to see the post and help you, no one else. Those who only watches the community for example will not be able to see it, thus they can't help you.

+ Do NOT steal bandwidth/hotlink/direct link any of the images you post here. That is rude, wrong (obviously,) and disrespectful, and we as a community do not allow it.

If you don't know what hotlinking/direct linking is, READ THIS.

Upload the icons/images to your own image host (tinypic, phototbucket, imageshack ect), it's free and takes 2 seconds.

+ You are NOT allowed to post finished tutorials in posts/entries here (only as answers to coloring questions in comments as said above), you can post finished coloring tutorials that at

icon_tutorial or

good_tutorial for example.

+ You are NOT allowed to ask "who made this icon/graphic?", you can do that at

who_gets_credit

+ You are NOT allowed to post finished icons/graphics that you just made here.

+ You are NOT allowed to post finished resources such as brushes, textures, patterns ect. here.

+ You are NOT allowed to ask where to find brushes, textures, patterns, gradients or fonts ect. you can do that at and

fontaddicts and places where it's allowed to ask "where can I find"

+ You are NOT allowed to ask how to make a texture, brush or pattern ect. you can do that at

icon_tutorial.

+ You are NOT allowed to ask for help if you're having problems with your graphic program, you can do that at

icon_tutorial.

What you SHOULD DO when you REPLY to a post:

+ Be nice, no snark or rude comments.

+ You can reply to a post with a link to a tutorial someone else wrote, one you think might help the original poster achieve the coloring he/she wants. You can also write a tutorial yourself, but DO NOT POST IT HERE, write it and post it to

icon_tutorial then leave a link to it here, in a comment to the post in question, or write the tutorial in a comment to the post in question.

What you SHOULD NOT DO when you REPLY to a post or a comment:

+ DO NOT reply to a coloring question or comment with a link to a .PSD/Action. In fact do not mention .PSDs/Actions at all, these comments will be deleted, and you will get a warning, 2 or more warnings and you will be banned from this community!

This means:
Do NOT reply to a coloring question with a link to a .PSD/Action.
Do NOT say "PM me if you want the .PSD/Action"
Do NOT say "I'll send you the .PSD/Action in a minute"
Do not say "Can you send/pm me the .PSD/Action?"
ect...

Basically, do not use the word ".PSD" or "Action" at all.
