After more than 30 years immersed in the worlds of golf, hospitality, lifestyle, and real estate, we’ve come to know exactly who we are and, just as importantly, who we’re not. You won’t find bean bag chairs, foosball tables, scooters, or nap pods in our office (although we wouldn’t rule out a nap pod someday). Instead, we prefer a more classic setup: big-screen TVs usually tuned to the Golf Channel and a few putting greens scattered around to keep our short games sharp.

Dave Gilbertson

Founding Partner

Soon after graduating from college in the Midwest, Dave packed up and moved to the Valley of the Sun. Since then, he has amassed decades of experience in public relations, marketing, and advertising, primarily in the golf, real estate and hospitality industries. As the general manager, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm, and as a proud member of The Thunderbirds, actively supports many civic-minded endeavors. At the end of the day, he can be found grilling on the patio, cheering for the Minnesota Vikings, and hanging out with family – human and canine.

Mike Petty

Founding Partner

A former golf pro, Mike has been involved in Arizona’s golf industry for more than 40 years. His broad experience ranges from washing golf carts to branding and marketing luxury golf communities. A highly regarded advisor to many of our clients, Mike also is largely responsible for managing the agency’s financial health and new business development. He is very active in the community, serving on the board for many charitable organizations, and out of the office, he enjoys family time with his wife and three adult kids, when they’re in town.

Jerry Rose

Vice President/Brand Management

Jerry has been with Communication Links from the beginning, 1993. He is accredited in public relations by the Public Relations Society of America and is a former board member of the organization. He specializes in media relations, brand development, familiarization trips and messaging, particularly with regards to Communication Links’ luxury golf and hospitality clients. Outside of the office, Jerry can be found playing golf, hiking, exercising and hanging out with his wife and four adult sons and grandchildren.

Jeff Locke

Associate

Jeff moved from Wisconsin to the Valley of the Sun in 1985, attended Saguaro High School, and went on to Northern Arizona University. Once bitten by the golf bug, he earned a golf hospitality “degree” at “Grayhawk U” as an assistant pro at Grayhawk Golf Club before making his way to Communication Links in 2002. He now manages public relations and marketing duties for a handful of clients in addition to pitching in wherever needed. When off the clock, he enjoys golf, tennis and spending time with his wife and adult children.

Andrea Minogue

Vice President/Creative Director

A Michigan native, Andrea graduated from the Kendall College of Art and Design with a BA in Visual Communications. She then spent nearly two years working in the graphic design field for a firm based in New Jersey. After coming to her senses, she moved to Scottsdale to take a position with Communication Links in 1999 where she helps the rest of us slobs make everything look presentable. When not at the office whipping up a variety of visually appealing pieces, she enjoys traveling, reading and yoga.

Jim Martin

Digital Technology Consultant

Jim joined the Communication Links team in 2008 as our digital technology expert, bringing with him international business experience gained during more than 10 years in New York at advertising agencies and other media companies; 25 years in Silicon Valley at technology and media companies; and in the digital/internet sectors as Senior Vice President at America Online as well as GM of its Netscape Division. He also led venture capital and private equity digital media companies and now focuses his time setting up Communication Links for success in the digital world.

Andrew Columbro

Digital Communications Associate

Originally from Seattle, Andrew left the rain behind to become a Sun Devil, earning a public relations and strategic communication degree from ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. Sports in general and golf in particular have always been a big part of his life, with some of his fondest memories made on the golf course with his dad and grandpa. When he’s not at work posting to social media or handling other duties, he enjoys playing golf, watching sports, exercising and checking out the stand-up comedy scene.

Mikal Stevens

Digital Content Manager

For as long as he can remember, Mikal (pronounced the usual way) has been most comfortable operating in the creative world. After earning a business degree at Texas Tech University, he worked in marketing, media, and communications, and he relishes being the guy behind the scenes making stuff look cool. He and his wife left the windiest city in the country – Amarillo, Texas, not Chicago – for calmer climes of Scottsdale. If Mikal’s not at work, check the nearest golf course.
