Who Loves Ya, xevinx?

Image
1. LJ Name: Imagegraceless_me
2. Age: 23
3. LJ best viewed on: I only really use firefox on PC, at 1204x768, but it appears to work on on IE, and I haven't tried on a mac. Anyone?
4. Why did you choose the Component style? Because it's so customisable and pretty. And because Imagecomponent_help seemed to be the best s2-assistant community on LJ.
5. Anything else you'd like us to know about your layout: I'm still very much in the learning phase. I intend on losing the "links" component for a more compact drop down list of links in the next 24 hours. I also want to change the color scheme, but that will be last I think.

I am really interested in suggestions rather than a rating at this point.

Also, I'm curious as to whether this comm is still active at all.

LJ Name: Image101486
Age: 19
LJ best viewed on:
  Computer Type: Mac.
Browser: Camino or Firefox. It looks like hell in Safari, and I'm unsure about any other browsers.
  Screen resolution: 1440x900
Why component: Most of my layouts have been on the boxer or opal, which are both fabulous styles, but the whole reason I got a paid account was because component looked really, really cool, and I wanted it. It's always looked too hard for me, though, which is why I've done very little with it until now.
Anything else? Ah, nope. Thanks. :)

Who loves ya, XevinX?

1. LJ Name: Imagedevianc

2. Age: 20

3. LJ best viewed on: Any computer

Browser: Prefer Firefox, but IE works too.

-Screen resolution: Minimum 1024x768 but higher will always be better.

4. Why did you choose the Component style? Why not? It allows for me to do everything and anything that I want short of creating my own style.

5. Anything else you'd like us to know about your layout: It took me a lot of time, but mostly because I wanted to learn how everything "clicked".

Image
I am pleased to announce that the new maintainer of this community is Imagedmodegirl. Due to time contraints, I was unable to devote the time and attention to this community that it deserved, and she graciously accepted the position.

So please give her a warm welcome, and let's get this community back on the move by submitting some Component LJ review requests!

4. Why did you choose the Component style?
Actually, I chose Component on a whim.  It was my first S2 style and it looked good so I kept it.  I love it because of the high customizability of it.  Plus, the people over in Imagecomponent_help are all pretty cool folks.
5. Anything else you'd like us to know about your layout:
My layout is sorta Boston-based. In addition to the Red Sox style colors, the header image is of the band Bane, and the comment links are Bane lyrics.

1. LJ Name:Imagejaded_soul_88
2. Age:17
3. LJ best viewed on:
- computer type (Mac/PC)I haven't tried to see if it works on Mac, but it works fine on PC
- Browser(firefox/ie/safari/opera/etc) Firefox and IE
- Screen resolution (800x600/1024x768/etc) 1024x768
4. Why did you choose the Component style? I like the more sophisticated look when I see my journal and I know where to look for my links and such.
5. Anything else you'd like us to know about your layout: Um, just that I created all the graphics myself, or I should say that I modified them in PSP9, all images were from numerous magazines I have of Ayumi Hamasaki. Um also, if you have a fast connection, there will be music playing, you can always just press ESC key to turn it off. Um, in Mozilla, the marquee is disabled, so you won't be able to see the lyrics move at all.

1. LJ Name:

Imagecreepigurl

2. Age:

35

3. LJ best viewed on:
- computer type (Mac/PC)

I would have to say PC as I haven’t viewed this journal on a Mac for quite some time.

- Browser(firefox/ie/safari/opera/etc)

*hangs head in shame* To be honest the journal looks and functions best in IE, though for most web browsing I prefer Firefox. Firefox doesn’t allow for the background sound, colored scroll bars, etc., however, and that does effect the presentation.

- Screen resolution (800x600/1024x768/etc)

1024x768 (Set for my own personal preferences ~ I do not think the layout will look sit quite as well in other resolutions).

4. Why did you choose the Component style?

The versatility, flow, function, etc. The components allow for quite a bit of self-expression as far as the style and feel of the layout. Tweaking/customizing is relatively simple once the structure is studied long enough. The style was close to the S1 style I set up for my LiveJournal at the time (which can still be seen on my long-neglected DeadJournal).

5. Anything else you'd like us to know about your layout:

My layout was reviewed by MasterSlacker in the early days of the community. I have made a few changes since then and I was curious to know how my journal layout is viewed by others. I have several different views in the layout: logged out users view, logged in users view and owner view. The reply page was stripped down to make it easier for those with dial up or slower machines (the layout sucks up quite a bit of resources) to comment without locking up. I run a P4 2.6 Ghz at home and the page loads, navigates smoothly. On the other hand it’s pretty choppy on my work computer (a dinosaur to say the least).
