display issues, still.
Figured I'd make a new post instead of editing my entire previous post. Sorry if that's not allowed.
Question/Problem: I'm using a 20" Acer X203W LCD monitor (specs here) and since I re-installed Windows XP the other day, as well as the driver's for my graphics card, my screen is horribly distorted. I can only use a refresh rate of 75hz, so the highest resolution I can use is 1480x900. Things look slightly blurred, stretched and it's aggravating. I previously used the same monitor, same graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS) prior to re-installing XP, so I don't know what's going on or if I can even fix it.
It seems the only resolution I can use without everything looking bad is the native of 1680x1050 at 60Hz and that's just not happening, without my feeling like I'm going to have a seizure.
Operating System, Version and Service Pack: Windows XP Professional SP3.
Web Browser and Version: Firefox 3.5
Your level of experience (we simplify or explain instructions based on how you answer): Intermediate
When did the problem start? Since Tuesday, when I reformatted/reinstalled my OS.
Any steps you've taken to troubleshoot? I've run through my Nvidia control panel, the windows display control panel, reinstalled drivers from the graphics card disc and updated through the Nvidia website. I've also enabled Cleartype, font-smoothing, and went through the Cleartype wizard on the Microsoft website. Reinstalled drivers again.
