Does anyone know how or know someone that can hack? To make a long story short, I have someone harassing me. I've tried looking online, but all of the websites I come across seem shady. Thanks. |

I have internet from AT&T (not U-verse) and was using a silver Motorola modem with a Linksys WRT120N router until my modem broke down and I had to get a replacement. The new modem I got is an Actiontec GT701D. I resetted my router and installed my new modem, but the wireless from the router doesn't work anymore. The way I have everything connected is that I have both my modem and router connected to my desktop. I had to use the PPPoE setting for my modem and my router is currently using the DHCP setting. I'm able to access the internet from my desktop, but I can't use the wireless internet from my laptop or iPod. Router firmware is 1.0.07 and modem firmware is 3.0.4.1.4. When I check the connections on my laptop & iPod I do see the connection SSID from my router, but I am unable to connect to it. I'm also able to see the properties of both my modem and router when I type in the IP addresses into my desktop (so both are being recognized from my desktop). Anyone have any ideas about getting my wireless back? Thanks. |

Okay guys, I need some assistance! My son's computer has Mozilla Firefox on it. It keeps giving me an error that I have plugins that are out of date. When I try to update them, it won't let me. I tried doing an uninstall and reinstall with Firefox thinking the version update would fix the problem. Finally, it gave me a "Error 1327 Invalid Driver G:/" message. I googled it and it pretty much told me I have registry error problems (which could explain a lot of the other issues it's having such as slow performance, not able to uninstall programs, etc). I tried using some "free" registry scanner/fixer programs, but of course I have to "register" them to do the fix. The "registry" page is WOT (for firefox) BAD so I'm thinking it's a bad program/scam (isn't most free? lol). So...I'm hoping someone here will have an easy, free way of fixing my problem. There were other "fixes" like going in the CMDR for each install but since I have several plugins to update, that seems like a pain in the ass. I'd really like a quick, easy permanent fix. Anyone know how to fix this? Please? Help! |

I've tried googling my problem, but I'm not coming up with an answer so I'm hoping someone can help. About 4-5 days ago I noticed my McAfee Security Center kept randomly creating a shortcut on my desktop. I'm totally OCD about my desktop and don't like any shortcuts on there. (I just pin them to the task bar, it's cleaner) I certainly didn't create it or put it there and I know a lot of time when software updates, it will create a new desktop icon (iTunes is a prime example). Usually I just delete it and empty my trash and all is well. Well, no matter how many times I keep deleting it, it comes back! Usually on a computer reboot but it is now just popping up randomly, without even running the software. I'm at my whits end, I even did a system restore to a few days ago thinking the problem was with an update but it's not helping. What could possibly be causing this? And better yet, how do I fix it?!?! HELP!! |

| I've been streaming video on the computer/watching hulu/youtube and it's been fine. Today, I can't even get the box to pop up on hulu or youtube that the video would be viewed in. What's going on and how do I fix it? I already tried clearing the cookies for those sites but it didn't help. (I'm using firefox 5.0, anything newer makes my computer nutty so I haven't upgraded.) | ||||||

I picked up a used copy of Tomb Raider I was going to install on my son's computer. It is made for Windows 95/98 so it's pretty old. I was hoping that there was a way to get around the age and play it anyway but I'm having trouble installing it. Is it indeed TOO old to play? Or is there a way to cheat around it's age. My son's computer runs Windows Vista. Thanks! |

I work for a non-profit theater company and we're looking to have a basic app made for smart phones that would allow for super easy donation, ticket ordering, and perhaps a notification when a new event's tickets go on sale. 1. Any idea where to find someone who could make such? 2. Any idea where to find someone who would consider doing it for a low price or as a donation of his/her time (in kind donation)? The organization provides theater training to underprivileged youth and is a 501c3, if that makes any difference. If you have any ideas, please contact me at munchkin1616 at juno dot com Thank you so so much! |

i know very little about computers, halp My laptop finally died (a month before the warranty expired, conveniently enough), and rather than fix it, the place I got my warranty through just reimbursed me the original price. It was a good two or three years old, so obviously I'm taking the opportunity to get something nice enough to play newer games. Right now I'm torn between two: one has an Intel Core i5 2.53GHz processor and a decent video card, and one has an Intel Core i7 1.6GHz processor with a better video card. They're within $20 of each other, so which is the better buy? i7 is bigger than i5, so I'm inclined towards that, but 2.53 is also bigger than 1.6. halp. (If you've any other suggestions for computers, that'd be great, too. I have $700-$800ish to spend). |

Hi all, My desktop computer, as of tonight, is now refusing to load a particular site, Kickass Torrents... however, I've been a frequent visitor to the site over the past 6 months so am very confused as to why it's suddenly decided I can't see the site? It doesn't matter if I click on a saved link, do a google search and click on a link the search provides or even type it in... all I get is a white page showing nothing. I've tried both Mozilla Firefox and IE, both updated versions. I've tried restarting the computer a few times and even restarting the modem but to no avail. Whats very annoying is that I can access the site without problems via my netbook on the same internet connection? It's such a weird problem that I don't even know where to begin? Thanks to everyone who helps :) tj |

I'm trying to put a new personalization on my computer... I click to choose which photos to use and click onto the folder I want to include. The folder contains 65 pictures. The personalization window only shows 55. I've tried deleting some to see if there's a 65 photo limit or something, but nope. I've tried moving the photos into a different folder, but then the dropdown menu doesn't offer the different folder as a choice. I've tried restarting the computer, of closing and reopening the window, etc. Why won't it recognize all folders of photos as options and more, why won't it show all 65 pictures to play as the background images? |

I've got a Windows problem I can't solve myself and I can't seem to find my Windows CD to format and reinstall my OS. I was wondering if anyone has used or heard of Reimage? Just wondering, I'm about to put down some hard-earned cash to get it and it looks like it'll work but I thought I'd ask here first. Thanks. *sorry if you run into this twice, I'm cross-posting in a few places. |

I need your help. My laptop is dying, I'm afraid. It's a Dell Inspiron 1420, and has a 220 GB hard drive. I've had it going on two years. I'm going to be getting a new laptop soon. Here's what I use it for: chatting, web surfing, word documents, video-making (as in Windows Movie Maker videos that I upload to Youtube), and listening to music. I'm also on it about 12 hours/day. Here are the complaints I have about the Dell: it crashes frequently and gets hot very, very fast. I don't need a large screen--the one I have is 11" or so, I usually keep it plugged in wherever I am just because it's easier to see the screen that way, so battery life isn't really an issue either. What kind of laptop do you have? Do you like it? What issues do you have with it? Any recommendations for a brand? What should I be looking for in a laptop to do the above listed without much trouble? Help please. |
