5 Years Old!

Image

Lucas is 5!!! Where does the time go? I really wish time would stop because so far this is my favorite age. Lucas is so kind and smart. He is such a big help around the house. He will go and get wipes, help clean the kitchen, pick up toys. He loves school and asks everyday if he gets to go. Every morning he comes running in and gives both Andy and I a big hug and asks how our sleep was.

His favorite things to eat are still Bread & Cheese, Quesadillas, and Chick Fil A. He loves Jane and they two have the cutest relationship. Every morning Jane wakes up first and climbs into bed with Lucas and I love hearing them talk and giggle each morning.

I feel so lucky to be this little one's mama and am grateful for everything he has taught me. Here is his 4 year old interview:

Jane is 2 1/2. She is such a ball of sass, sweet, and spice all wrapped in one! We all adore her and laugh at her antics daily. She insists on what she wears and is getting so much better at talking. She is obsessed with princesses, with Aurora being her favorite. Here are some things I want to always remember about Jane at this age:

- Pretty much if you ask her anything her reply is "No". Even when she wants it. But she smiles when she says the one she wants.
- She LOVES to dance. If she hears a song she stops what she is doing and dances.
- Says "Bank You" for Thank you.
- She can be so naughty one minute and such a sweetheart the next.
- She asks for hugs and kisses multiple times before bed each night.
- She wants to help with everything... cleaning, vacuuming, baking.
- Whenever we go somewhere I always Prep Lucas with what we are doing, he does totally fine if he know what to be expected. For probably Jane's whole life I will say something to the effect of "When we get to the store, we are not getting a toy. OK?" And then Lucas will say OK. I never really thought about this, but now anytime Jane says anything ANYTHING she ends it with OKKKAYYY? For example- I want a juice, OKAY? I want fruit snack OKAY? It is hilarious.
- Still allergic to wheat, nut, egg, and milk. Boo.

I am sure there is more, but Jane is the best little sidekick and we love her so much.

2014-2015 School Year

This year we started our first annual back to school dinner. Our theme for the year is "Be Kind". I always want Lucas to Be Kind to those in his class, bus, and playground. We had a good night discussing the ways to show kindness to others.

DC United

This year Lucas played soccer for DC United. He LOVED it. That doesn't really even begin to describe it. He asked daily when his games were and was so sad every time a game was over. His team plays 4 on 4 and they practice for 20 minutes before each game.

The best part was always the pre-game stretch. So cute #10.

3 Weeks wasn't long enough!!

Chicago and Nauvoo

On July 25 my little brother was married in the Nauvoo, IL Temple. After much deliberation, we all decided to leave children over the age of 1 at home. Nauvoo is beautiful, but not easy to get to with children. So I went with Trevor and Fern and Andy stayed home with the kiddos.

Here we are just landed in Chicago with our diet cokes ready to head to Nauvoo.

When we arrived in Nauvoo we went to the temple. It was so beautiful!

When my In-laws lived in Nauvoo for their mission they lived in this house. We visited when Lucas was 6 weeks old. Such a cute home.
