Soccer Season!

Another Soccer Season has started! This year I am coaching Jane's soccer team again and we are the Sparkling Bumblebees. We had to go up a division this year since most of our girls are 5 turning 6. Let's just say we are one of the younger teams so we have some growing pains. The first game we were clueless... this last week we did so much better! I am excited to see the team progress throughout the season.

Lucas also started Baseball. Andy is coaching and we have a bunch of boys from our ward on the team. They are the Athletic's and are also a younger team. I didn't get a picture of Lucas in his uniform yet, but Mable was so excited to get up and cheer the team on!

Both kids had a great Saturday and if you need us this fall, we will more than likely be at the ball field :)

Weekly Update

This weekend was COLD! I have never been to Las Vegas in September and needed a jacket. Utah received some snow this weekend so I guess we aren't the only ones getting colder weather. As much as I am tired of the heat, I also was hoping we would get a little bit of Fall. Oh well! I guess we will need to bundle up for Halloween this year.

This week Mable and I went to Storytime for the first time just the two of us. She wasn't so sure about it at first, but by the end she was up dancing like pro.

The kids had no school on Monday so we went to the Springs Preserve. The kids loved it! By the end Jane had a blister from walking so much so she and Mable shared the stroller. Mable was not amused.

Found this old Payphone at the Springs Preserve. Jane asked if we could REALLY call someone from it. It was her favorite part of the day, haha.

We celebrated one of my favorite friends at her birthday dinner. Melissa is one of a kind friends who is always lending a listening ear and helping those around her. So much fun celebrating her all night!

We also finally celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Flemings and it did not disappoint. So yummy!

Before it got cold outside, we had a playdate with our friends. It was so weird being at the pool with JUST Mable. Talk about a piece of cake!! Mable and Quinn are the cutest friends.

Sunday Shenanigans

Sunday evening we all had a little cabin fever from being inside all day so we got the outdoor toys out. Mable LOVED the "Pink Car" (Pronounced Pink Car-ee). She didn't want to get out and loved going around and around.

Aunt Angie got this dress for Mable when she was little tiny. So happy it finally fits!

Dallas and Sydney came down for a night and we LOVED having them here. Although the BYU Cougs lost to the U, AGAIN we still enjoyed spending time together. Love these two sweet kiddos!

Lucas Henry ~ 7 1/2

Lucas is my favorite little guy. He is getting so big and I love our little conversations. Today is one I always want to remember:

Lucas: "Mom, are there living people in other Galaxies?"
Me: "Well we haven't discovered any, but I believe there are"
Lucas: "Hmmmmm. Well when I grow up I want to go find them"
Me: "That sounds great bud. Can I come with you?
Lucas: "YES! But you'll have to find a babysitter for Mable"

And then my heart melted. I love him. He is loving sports and I can't wait for baseball to start in a few weeks. He and Andy are always practicing, playing and going to the batting cages. He is starting to make new friends at his new school and is loving his classroom. We had "Back to school" night where Andy and I went and listened to his teacher talk about class expectations and curriculum. His teacher gave the kids a quiz of all their favorite things. When we got to class we had to guess what the kids had written down. Lucas was so excited to see whether or not we could guess his favorite things. We got most of them right...

Favorite Color: Blue
Favorite Food: Mexican
Favorite TV Show: GI Joe
Favorite Movie: Star Wars
Favorite thing to do outside: Basketball or baseball
Favorite thing to do inside: Wii

He also has to write in his journal every morning and follow a prompt. On that day the questions was where would you go if you could fly? He had quite the adventure, but it ended with him flying to Chile to see grandma and grandpa, with an accompanying picture of the three of them. Although they are no longer in Chile it made me happy that he would go see them if they still lived there :) We love our sweet Sun Boy.

Mable Anne 15 Months

Today we had Mable's 15 month well check. We were supposed to have one at 12 months, but summer had just started and that's just life of the 3rd child. What's funny about the 3rd child is when the doctor asked a question that I knew he wouldn't love the answer to (like, is she drinking solely from a cup or sippy cup? And she hates cups and still has a bottle for everything) I lied. I didn't want the lecture about how it's better for development and yadda yadda yadda. I am her mom and I will do what's best for my child. It's not putting her in harm's way.... in my defense the only other question I dodged was when they asked if I was giving her Vitamin D drops. I have never bought them... oops.

Anyway.... at 15 months Mable weighs 25.5 ounces and is 32.5 inches long- both in the 90th percentile. We call Mable "Big Baby" from Toy Story and she laughs every time we say it. Her favorite words are: Mom, Dada, This, Ouch, Uh-oh, Bird, and Hi.

The saddest thing is when she wakes up from her naps she waves Hi at the kids because she is so used to them being home over Summer, but then she realizes nobody is home and just stops waving. I love it, even though it really is so sad.

I have a container of flour that is made to hold Pet food. On the label is a picture of a dog, cat, and bird and Mable talks to her "friends" the animals. So cute.

Weekly Update

Just a random assortment of pictures from this past week. The kids successfully ended their second week of school and they loved it even more. Tonight as they got out of the bath they excitedly set out their uniforms and were talking about what they were looking forward to. I love that they love school!

After school one day last week it was so pretty out and only 88 degrees. I pulled off and took the kids to the park to enjoy the nice weather. Of course I couldn't keep them away from the splash pad and they were soaked from head to toe, but they were having fun so who cares? I stripped Mable down afterwards only to realize I didn't have any diapers. I wrapped her in a blanket and kept my fingers crossed she didn't poop in the car. Fortunately, she didn't :)

Mable is into everything and I can't keep up. Sitting under my desk is her favorite spot.
Image
Mabes woke up in the middle of the night last week and I just rocked her for about 45 minutes. She is getting to big and I loved the snuggle time.

 Cheeser.

Can you tell I spend all my days with Mable? All my pictures include her. Mable does not like the 45 minute carpool line. For the first 15 minutes when we don't move I get her out of her carseat and hold her... only she found the buttons to open all the sliding doors and thought she was so funny pushing them.
Image
She has her drink and I have mine.

Guess who figured out how to sit backwards in the cart?
Image
On Saturday we needed to get out of the house so we took the kids to GameWorks and used our last POGO pass. They were so excited to play games.
Image
This virtual rollercoaster is Jane's favorite game. It makes me so sick to watch so Andy was nice enough to sit with her.

Best baby watching Lucas and Jane play games.

Love her little face. And her natural curls.
Image
The one Saturday we get to wear BYU wear since Michigan wasn't playing. Next week we will all be supporting GO BLUE!
Image
Friday & Saturday are the only days the kids get to play Wii. They came home Friday, had a snack and started playing and "unwinding" from the week.

Can't wait for the week ahead!
