Character Name: Baby Doll
Canon: Sucker Punch
Canon Point: After Baby lets Sweat Pea go, knowing she's sacrificing herself.
Background/History: wikia link
Personality:
Baby Doll starts off a lot more meek than we see her at the end of the film. While she's always been the one to do what it takes, like climbing out of the window and attempting to shoot her stepfather, she doesn't initially fight back. It takes her trying to escape the reality she made to escape her actual reality.

Then a drive emerges. Everything becomes about gaining the items and protecting the girls. In the third reality, she becomes like the platoon leader. While in the brothel, she protects Rocket from the Cook. Even when it seems the mission is over and Blue confronts them the first time (when he notices the changes with the map), Baby insists they can do this. It becomes her whole world, and she truly believes in them.

She does have an aversion to men, from her stepfather, Blue, and the High Roller. However her "angel" is a man and helps her gain her confidence. Not all men are bad. The girls become her second family. Even Sweet Pea who seems to resist her at first. Baby comes in and makes an escape possible. Which all of them want.

The girls are Baby's ties. They help her to keep going. She becomes their leader, uniting the other four of them for a goal. She does want to get all of them out, and needs them as much as they need her. She helped Rocket, putting a knife to her attacker's throat, and she sacrificed herself to get Sweet Pea out. They end up unifying to get the map, lighter, knife, and key. She takes them into the third reality, and they're actions have affects as well since three girls managed to get an item while Baby distracted everyone.

She is afraid of the High Roller/ doctor, but it's through the realization that she was never the focal point and actually the fifth piece, she's strong enough to do what was needed. She makes the ultimate sacrifice for a friend. That there is a fine line between exploitation and empowerment. That through her struggles of being oppressed, she found herself, she found the strength to make the decision to lay herself down.

Baby is very much a paradox upon sight. She looks like this pale, tiny thing and the beginning of the film shows all these bad things happening to her. However, her first line of the movie is "let her go, pig", as she holds a knife to throat of the cook as he tries to assault Rocket. She's able to be sexy and strong. She can kick ass, she can be what is needed and still stand for herself. The different worlds aren't just an escape, but a confidence boost.

The worlds were also set up like the Wizard of Oz, said director Snyder. Where things mirrored. After the movie, a character comments that Baby was actually a handful. That a patient had escaped and that she stabbed an orderly, so all of these things that she imagined did take a hold in the real world. So because of the person she became, she was able to not only change the worlds in which she created, but the world in which she actually existed in. No matter what her fate was.

She becomes no longer afraid of anything, willing to take down anything or do anything she sets her mind to. She is no longer oppressed.

Abilities/Powers:
Baby has the ability to slip into other realities that she creates. While these most often actually function as fantasies, what she does in one world, has affects on what is actually happening.

She does move into them, but from the two animimated shorts made, they are complete realities. With prior existences.

Sample Entry Two:
There was always a goal. Get through it. That's what Baby kept thinking as the High Roller's goons led -- which was really forcibly pushing her -- up to the room. Sweet Pea was gone now, probably near the city now. She couldn't help the smile at the thought of that. If her goal right now was to just exist, then that was fine. Her fate was set, no matter what Blue or the High Roller thought. Their opinion no longer mattered.

She was successful.

Baby heard the clank of the metal door shut behind her and people talking about the fire they had just put out. There was another smile at that. The aftermath of her plan. The other girls would have been proud. She frowns briefly at that. She would have sacrificed herself for any one of them. It was her only regret that she couldn't save them as well. But at least Sweet Pea was out.

That's what she had to focus on.

The men seemed to be congratulating themselves on catching her, and it took a lot to not turn around and kick them in nuts like she had the High Roller. They had no idea what was happening. They never had any idea of what was happening. And in that, she was proud.

They took her to room to isolate her, and honestly, she was even okay with that. She really didn't want to see anyone else. Blue was probably still getting fixed up. Maybe Madame Gorski would show up. Probably when it was realized Sweet Pea was gone as well.

Baby took a seat and rested her head on the wall, that same readied smile on her face. She didn't need to worry. What was going to happen was going to happen. This was it. At least she had chosen her fate this time.
