COOKIES!!!!

Image ImageImageImage

ImageYou just have to love the pure joy of kids making their first batch of cookies. KaraLynn thought she was on top of the world! Probably wondering how life could be any better than chocolate chip cookie dough! (I sometimes wonder the same thing :P ) This just makes me want to make cookies everyday! I have two cookie-lovin' kids. I need to start exercising if this is going to happen on a more regular basis!

Pumpkin Land!

Image ImageImageImage Grandma took us to Pumpkin Land to enjoy the kids activites there before Halloween... The kids had a lot of fun going thru the corn maze, seeing all the animals, jumping on the blow up trampolines and slides, and of course playing on all the climbers and tunnels. What a fun day! - Thanks to Grandma!

Fall Leaves

Image ImageImage Aaron took the kids up for a ride in the Canyon to see the leaves so that I could sleep after I got home from work. They had a lot of fun hiking and climbing around the trees! Aaron's such a good dad!

Halloween!!

Image ImageImageImage
My two 'worker boys' and a little fairy... sure had fun trick-or-treating on Halloween! Kellen was so excited to come home and show me all his goodies. KaraLynn was a candy monster, she would climb up on anything until she could reach the treat bowl, then bring it to us to open for her. Definitely two sugar-high kids! Unfortunately I had to work that night. But I was able to go in a little late! I got them all sugared up, just in time to leave them with Aaron to go to work!

KaraLynn

Image ImageImage KaraLynn played with the sand toys, and watched from the truck while we were out shooting. She thought it was pretty fun to watch all of us.

Kellen shooting his first gun.

Image ImageImageImage
Image Kellen had a lot of fun shooting with Dad and Dave... He started with the pellet gun, then went to the smaller rifle, then he thought he was pretty neat stuff- so he wanted to shoot the pistol. But of course Dad thought that Kellen needed to shoot the newest member of his collection and shoot the bigger rifle. Kellen of course thought that was a great idea. The best part about it, is he is a pretty good shot. He hit most of his targets right on! Aaron of course helped supervise and hold some of the weight of the rifles, but Kellen did all the trigger pulling and aiming on his own.
I of course have mixed feelings... he sure does look cute. And his respect for the guns that he has makes me proud. (Good job teaching him about guns Aaron...) but as a mom, you still are always a little unsure about a 3 year old feeling that comfortable around them. I just make sure Aaron puts them away, and continues to teach him about the danger that they can be.
(A few weeks later... they went out again. I don't have a picture of it... but Kellen shot my shotgun for the first time. He was very excited to come home to tell me what he got to do! ~ Aaron, Dave and Kellen went out and 'decorated' their pumpkins... Kellen shot his right on target!)

Shootin' 22's...

Image ImageImageImage Shooting with Mom, and Dave and Christine. We took our .22's and went out for a Saturday morning activity. We had a lot of fun shooting up all the tomatoes from the garden that were frozen before they could ripen!

Our Trip

Wahweap, Lake Powell- 2009!

Ah!!! It was so nice to get away to such a beautiful place. It was amazing! We left home about 3am so that we could drive while the kids were sleeping and be down there just in time for breakfast... Cami, Aaron, Kellen and KaraLynn pulled the boat, with Grandma, Dave and Christine following behind. We met Grandpa John down there at the launch ramp.

We loaded the boat about as full as it could possibly get (with it still able to float!) and drove around to find a campsite. We put all the camping gear and personals along with8 people for a few hours while we toured warm creek to find a good spot! It was quite an interesting ride, but it sure was fun!

After we found our spot and set up camp, we went out wakeboarding. Aaron, Cami and Dave all went, then Christine decided she wanted to learn, so she got out there and tried it!

Unfortunately we were not aware that there was going to be a fiesta that night- there was spanish music echoing thru our bay ALL NIGHT! Most of us didn't get much sleep due to the music in the background but it sure was pretty seeing all those stars out late with no city lights to distact from them.

On Saturday we picked up Amy, Steve, and Ryan. They joined us for a day- we went out tubing, and tried to teach Steve to wakeboard. We also gave them a tour of some of the cool canyons we had spotted the day before. It was nice to have them out.

Sunday Dave and Christine had to go back home, so we wakeboarded until about noon, then had to take them back to their car. We hit a small rain storm and waited it out, then not too long after we took Amy and Steve back to the dock as well. Then the adventure begins! We hadn't planned anything for dinner since we thought we'd get pizza at the restaurant... we hiked to the top, got to the restauant only to find that it was closed. So, we left and decided to go to Antalope pointe. We sat and had dinner, but of course by then, it was DARK!!! We got back in the boat to head back to camp and Aaron had accidentally turned the wrong direction, and we were wondering around for a few hours in the dark trying to find camp! We weren't sure if we would make it back, we were prepared to tie off somewhere else and find camp in the morning. But luckily, they figured it out! We made it back to camp~ hooray!

Monday was a lot of fun. We woke up and cleaned up camp before we headed out. We decided to get a 'Dangling Dog' and some ice cream from Dangling rope marina... Once we got up there we figured we would just keep going to Rainbow bridge. We ran into Cathedral canyon and decided to explore... that canyon was really neat. Aaron did some scuba diving. we did a little hiking and rock jumping, and just enjoyed the beauty of the winding canyon. We spent all afternoon there- and then headed back to load up and go home.

We can't wait to go back...

Kellen & KaraLynn

Image ImageImageImage The kids had a lot of fun in the water... expecially Kellen... We couldn't keep him out of the water- whether it was skiing or snorkeling- he would only come in after he was shivering from being in the water for so long. I'm glad he enjoyed it! KaraLynn like the water, but was sick for the trip so we tried to keep her in the boat as much as possible.
