Question about a task:

For my Data Structures class we have to count how many times a character, a number, and a word occurs in a file. I have no problem loading an array with the data from the file, but the process of counting each character, number and word baffels me. After I do the counting, I need to display the top 10 from each category.

I am not exactly sure how to go about setting this up and doing this, but any help would be wonderful
