I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who helped me out with the "shell".
Sorry to have been such a pain but I don't know C++ very well(I only have 1 first year intro to CS course on C++ under my belt). I've been accepted into a Masters course on the condition that I complete the core modules of an undergrad CS course (almost 9 months and I'm almost finished).
Everything was going fine until this little bit of homework for a final year class (that I'd only taken one of the requisite courses for) threw me. They wanted it in C++ but I didn't know many of the library functions or system calls and had done minimal work with the argv[], argc stuff.
