At the end of March, my pal Dawn and I travelled up to Harrogate for two wonderful classes with the fabulous Dina Wakley, at Art From The Heart. Included in the classes was one of Dina’s fab new media journals, which have four different types of pages, watercolour paper, kraft card, canvas, and burlap. We also got to try Dina’s new Scribble Sticks, which look like crayons, but act like water colour pencils, with tons of pigment. Here are the pages I created over the two days…

Dina showed us how to create scribbly faces. This really appeals to me, as I don’t have the patience to paint faces realistically. We used her Scribble Sticks for this, and water activated with a paintbrush.

Loving the drips on this one.

After the classes, I headed up to Scotland for a couple of weeks holiday with my family, taking a few crafty supplies with me of course. I had a lovely play, printing on empty teabags with my Gelli Plate, That’s Crafty stencils, and Dina Wakley acrylic paint. I made a couple of collages with them in my new journal.

If you ever get the chance to take one of Dina’s classes, I would thoroughly recommend it. I adore her free and easy style.
