Tag You’re It – Christmas in August!

Posted in Uncategorized on August 20, 2008 by craftytrog

Here’s my entry for this week’s TGI challenge. I cheated a bit – I was rearranging my craftroom this week and found the image, that I’d stamped and coloured in last Christmas! All I had to do was mount it on a piece of green paper that I also made a while ago! Then I cut out a tag shape, inked it with Peeled Paint Distress Ink, Splattered water to create a few blotches, and stamped a holly design around the edge. Finally I layered up my tags with an eyelet and some ribbon!

Here is my entry for Leonie’s ATC Challenge this week! The main image is a Tilda stamp by Magnolia, and I coloured it in by picking up ink from a Marvy Blending Blox ink pad with my waterbrush. The flower stamp is a mini mini Stitchel from The Artistic Stamper. For the background, I used Glimmer Mists and Basic Grey paper edged with gold Krylon.

Vintage Travel Tag

Here is a tag that I made for a vintage travel themed swap. I inked the background with antique linen and vintage photo distress inks, then stamped my images (Inkadinkado Clear on Clear Travel Time, The Artistic Stamper, and Stampattack) with sepia archival ink. I triple embossed the frame with Cosmic Shimmer Autumn Lustre, then stamped into the hot EP with Crafty Individuals crackle background. I highlighted some of the images with a white pen, edged the tag with gold Krylon, added the frame, some buttons and string, and it was done.

Willow Man Update

Here is my latest photo of Willow Man. As you can see, he now has arms, and today we gave him a bottom! He is beginning to outgrow poor Marina’s living room, so we’ll have to make his legs separately, and attach them when they are finished. We are planning to move him to our church to finish him, as there is more room there! It hasn’t been easy to find time to work on Mr Willow this month, due to holidays, but we are feeling more confident now, that with God’s help and a prayer before each session, he will be ready for Harvest! :0)

This week Hels’ challenge was to hide butterflies in our pockets, so I’ve hidden some glittery butterflies in mine. I used Hels’ Stitchels and mini mini Stitchels stamps on a glimmer mist background, then decorated them with gems and Stickles glitter glue. The butterfly phrase is by The Artistic Stamper.

Here are a couple of cards that I made today. The one on the left is a golden anniversary card for my mum and dad to give to their friends, and the right-hand one is for my friend to give to her son, who is starting at The Brit School in September.

Alcohol Ink Workshop

Posted in Uncategorized on August 9, 2008 by craftytrog

I went to a fab workshop today, run by Jennie from The Artistic Stamper, We made a canvas and a little tag book. the canvas is coloured with alcohol inks, and decorated with alcohol ink resist tiles. I have to confess that when I got home I took off the tiles, and changed the colour of the canvas from bright orange to plum and blue tones! Here it is:-

Image

For the tag book, we alcohol inked the covers first. Then we used the shaving foam and ink technique to create a marble effect for the inside of the covers. The inside pages were stamped, then chalked around the edges. We used the bind-it-all to make the book, then added a Tim Holtz Hitch Fastener. Here it is:-

Here is my entry for this week’s challenge. I used a stamp by The Artistic Stamper, on a glimmer mist background. When I was making backgrounds yesterday, I used a tissue to mop up the excess glimmers, and I’ve used the tissue around the edge of my house. Thanks for looking! :0) x

This week’s challenge was set by Jennie from The Artistic Stamper. She challenged us to make something with winged things on it. Here is my entry – a card that I’ve made using a new set of stamps called Dragonfly Dreams. I received them in my subscription gift, on joining The Stamper’s, Scrapbooker’s, and Papercrafter’s Guild. I used backgrounds made with Glimmer Mists, and distress inks to ink the edges of each layer. ;0)
