Cards on December 30, 2009 by craftytrog
I bought a lovely set of Paperbag Studio stamps in November, when I was feeling a bit sorry for myself after my hand op. I finally managed to mount them last week, so here are a couple of cards I made with them. The first one was inspired by a card made by Fliss I stamped butterflies on a ‘caught in crystal’ background, and covered the piece of adhesive paper lace with guilding flakes (a technique I learned from my good friend Lucy). The second card is embellished with ‘caught in crystal’ punched flowers. The gold brads were looking a bit too shiny, so I used my Tim Holtz texture hammer on them.

I used one of my Tim tags on this one. The card is for my boss, and the key has a special meaning for him. He lost his car keys in the recent snow, when he slipped whilst delivering newspapers! He had a spare, but it was on the same keyring! Lol! He did find them when the snow melted luckily.

Here’s the final tag! I used Glimmer mists to colour my roses, and stazon on the faux metal.

This one was hard work and very messy! I used stazon to colour the metal instead of alcohol ink. My photos show the tag with the flash, & without. You can see tim’s tag & instructions here

I’ve been making presents for people, and these two are presents to myself! I used an alcohol inked background, and stamps by Paperbag Studios & PaperArtsy. I’ve made the butterfly one into a pendant, and ‘Joy’ is an ornament for my Christmas tree.

Church Art on December 10, 2009 by craftytrog
These beautiful collages were made by children at our church, with a little help from our art group. We used wallpaper samples, handmade papers, and fabric. They each measure about 5 x 4 feet. We spent this morning hanging them up in the church, ready for the Christmas services.

These are some notecards that I made yesterday, for a great aunt’s christmas present. I used some of the ‘tartan’ alcohol ink backgrounds that I made the other day, and stamps by Crafty Individuals.

Here’s my version! Didn’t have any snowy stuff, so I decorated my PaperArtsy tree with candy cane stickles. My masking tape wouldn’t work, but I quite like the distressed look of this tag. Tim’s tag is here

This is a card I made for a customer, for her mum. I used stamps by Crafty Individuals, and the image in the top RH corner is a stampbord brooch.

Ok, I know we’re now onto Day 8, but I had to order some supplies! I used stamps by The Artistic Stamper on my tag, and a square fragment charm wrapped with copper tape. you can find the instructions for Tim’s tag here

It’s incredible! I’m actually up to date with Tim’s tags! I’m typing this with seriously alcohol ink stained fingers! Those tartan backgrounds are very addictive, as Tim said. Having found the dotty background stamp on the Urban Tapestry plate, I decided that the bird looked like a robin, so that became my main image. This was a quick and fairly simple tag to make, but I think it’s my favourite so far. Tim’s version is here.

Shock horror!! This is my 2nd post today, and it’s my version of Tim’s Day 2 tag. I used Heat It Enchanted Gold EP for the frame, as I didn’t have Antique Linen Distress EP. The metal flowers were fun to make, though my hand ached a bit after! I didn’t have Tim’s metal corners, so I used a little metal holly sprig instead. The swirl stamps are by Crafty Individuals. Tim’s tag & instructions are here.
2 tips –
1. don’t drop your long fasteners onto a carpet that hasn’t been hoovered in a while! I did it twice!
2. don’t hammer your finger! Did that twice too!

Ok, I know this started 2 days ago, but I’ve been busy! Anyway, here’s my version of the Day 1 tag. I haven’t got any of Tim’s Christmas stamps, so I used what I already had, but the techniques were Tim’s, and you can see them explained here. Hope you like! I think that Hampton Art snowman is rather cute!
