Here’s another Tim-inspired Christmas card. This week’s card is based on Tim’s 2010, Day 8 tag. There was a bit of masking involved, & the row of Crafty Individual’s houses have glitter on their roof tops, doors & windows.

I needed to make a card for my Father-in-law’s birthday this week, so I decided to use a set of Crafty Individual’s stamps (CI-305) that I won recently, when taking part in their blog challenge.
I stamped & clear embossed one of the images onto white card, then punched the edge with my EK Success binder edge punch. Then I added colour with crushed olive distress inks, not taking too much care, as I wanted to tatty up the binder edge. I added some walnut stain DI around the edges, then matted onto torn book page on an A6 card blank. I used some freebie Crafty Individual’s clock stamps on the edges of the card, & finally, I added some cogs & the word ‘Dad’.
I’m entering my card for the Simon Says ‘One Colour’ Challenge.

I was inspired by Trish Latimer’s Stamping with Circles article in this month’s Craft Stamper, when I created this card for the October Art Journey Challenge.
I scraped Dash of Red Studio paint on some card, using an old credit card, then used a paint brush to add some Sky Blue & more Red around the edges. I then stamped the text from Art Journey’s Umbrella Girl plate onto the painted background. I stamped Umbrella Girl onto book paper, cut her out & glued her over part of the text, then stamped the text flourish from the Smile plate in the bottom right-hand corner. I matted my artwork on a kraft coloured card blank.
Thanks for looking, & thanks for the inspiration Trish! x
This week on Grungy Monday, Linda has challenged us to make a piece of Tim-inspired art in just 10 minutes. I knew immediately I wanted to use my alcohol inks, so I gathered all my supplies together, set my timer, & here’s what I came up with!

I’m still very much a novice with art journaling, but I thought I would give Dawn’s Journal Journeys Challenge a go. The theme for October is Autumn/Nature & masks.
I had made the background of this page after attending Neil Walker’s workshop a couple of weeks ago. I used a couple of Crafters Workshop masks, dots & tree, distress stains, the skeleton leaves were glued on with crackle glaze. I spritzed with perfect pearl gold mist. I drew the bird myself, cut it out & used paints to colour it, then added texture with a black pencil. I grounded the bird on some calendar tissue tape, then added shading with the black pencil. The leaves were left over from a project a few weeks ago, the middle one is a real leaf that I embossed. Finally, I used Hero Arts alphabet stamps for the words.

We spent a lovely day at The Goodwood Race Course yesterday. Our daughter Bethany was taking part in the final of Greenpower, a scheme where schools build & race their own electric racing car. Her school’s team finished 19th out of 78 cars, which was brilliant, as they were taking part for the first time, & they were placed 29th after the heats. Bethany was the team’s fastest driver at 27 mph. So, I’m a very proud mum! Here are some photos I took.

I was fortunate to be able to attend a brilliant art journaling workshop with the wonderfully talented Dina Wakley last Friday. Sadly, it was because my poor friend Nicky had suffered a collapsed lung, & was therefore unable to attend.
The little arty book that we made a the workshop still needs some tweaking & putting together, but I made this card, using the techniques we learnt from Dina. And, of course, I have used a couple of her fabulous stamps too.
Hels, who was also at the workshop, has chosen blue & orange for her latest Sunday Stamper Challenge, so I’m entering my card.

There’s a new challenge over on The Artistic Stamper Creative Team Blog. This month the challenge is to use Autumn Colours.
For my design team piece, I altered a CD. I cut a circle of green Tim Holtz paper to fit the CD, then stamped and embossed the phrase from the new Journalling Words plate(on special offer this month). I stamped flowers from the Greetings & Words plate, & embossed in gold, then painted them, using Adirondak Pearl Paint. I glued this to the CD. I punched a couple of holes in the top, added large eyelets, & a chain to hang.
Next, I took an A4 sheet of white card, then covered it with mustard seed distress stains. I used spiced marmalade, barn door & peeled paint distress stains to stamp splats onto the card, then inked the whole sheet with walnut stain distress ink. Next, I stamped a script in coffee archival ink all over the sheet. Using the Alterations Tattered Leaves die, I cut 8 leaves from my inky background.
I embossed 4 real leaves with various metallic embossing powders, using Laura’s tutorial on Gingersnap Creations. Finally, I glued the inky tattered leaves & the embossed real leaves in a wreath around the phrase, using a glue gun.
Thanks for looking, & don’t forget to go & see the other gorgeous design team creations, & take part in the Challenge yourself.
