Godelieve of Stamping Matilda, posts her Sunday Scraps project every week, and I always pop over for a look. This morning, she inspired me to dig into my box of scraps & create a little card.
The background was part of a masterboard, and the flower is one I drew on the inside of an envelope, coloured & cut out. I’ve had them lurking in my scraps box for many months! I found a scrap of black card for the mount, & used a PaperArtsy JoFY quote as my finishing touch.
Happy Sunday Everyone!
Mine is very joyful, my little girl has just returned from her adventures in Central America, so happy to have her safely home. Even if it’s just for a week, she’s back at Uni next week!

This time last week, I was gathering bits and pieces for my PaperArtsy demo at the Ally Pally Craft Show in London. Yes, they let me demo again!!! I was asked to use the wonderful new Sara Naumann Christmas stamps, with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paint and Golden gels and mediums.
Here are the samples that I made in preparation (I made the tag on the left, using Hotpick stamps, the others with Sara Naumann stamps)…
This is the first tag I made in my demo. I gave it to Lauren, who kindly sent me some photos…
Sorry, couldn’t make the photos any larger, but I used Chalk, Moonlight, new Professor Plum, Mermaid & new Captain Peacock Frescos, some Golden Bead Gel through a stencil, and stamp set ESN18.
I was also demonstrating the 4″ Round Gelli Plate, using bubble wrap, corrugated card, a piece of textured table protector, and a foam fruit tray to add patterns in the paint…
Here’s a photo of me just getting started, taking by Lauren, and pinched from her blog 😉
I think Kirsten took this one of me, & young PaperArtsy Elf Hugo, photo-bomber extraordinaire!…
Just look at the work of art on the craft mat, at the end of my demo. That’s the piece of table protector on the right, kindly given to me by Hazel, lovely texture for adding designs on the Gelli Plate…
I made a few purchases at the show too. These were from the PaperArtsy stand…
and some more bits from other stands…
I went back to the show on the Sunday, & did a couple of make and takes on the PaperArtsy stand, a beautiful textured and painted wooden heart, and a lovely little canvas, featuring a fab JoFY Christmas tree stamp. The paper pack and unmounted stamps were freebies with my purchases on the PA stand 🙂
It was a wonderful weekend as usual, lovely to meet up with lots of crafty friends, and also to see some great demos from some of them.
Thanks for dropping by,

The latest challenge on the PaperArtsy Blog is Pigment Powders. You can find out all about them, and get some wonderful inspiration HERE, and on the latest posts.
I decided to used a resist technique, and foil flakes and sheet on a card, together with some of the Bistre powders that I bought at Ally Pally. I’ve used Blue, Green and Yellow, and PaperArtsy Hotpick HP1004.
Here’s a closer look…

Here are a few details about the PaperArtsy samples I made for the new Sara Naumann Christmas stamp sets, shown HERE last week.
ESN17 has some wonderful images & messages, perfect for creating a mixed media background & focal point.
Here are some photos of how I made the background…started with some music page collage…
Brayered Guacamole and Mermaid Fresco…
Some Glass Blue Fresco…
Stamping in black, then leafy branch stamped with Mermaid Fresco over the top…
To finish the card, leafy branch was stamped on the right with London Bus, then the sentiment tag, lace and heart were added.
Here’s one of the cards I made with ESN18. I love that bird!!
Here’s the background, collage, Guacamole, Mermaid & Glass Blue. Then script stamped with Glass Blue, & stencilled with Crafter’s Workshop stencil & London Bus. Bird, music & words stamped in black ink to finish.
You’ll be able to see all the wonderful samples made by PaperArtsy’s fab design team at the Crafting at Ally Pally Show this weekend, & I’ll be demonstrating Sara’s beautiful stamps on the PaperArtsy stand at 2pm. Please come and say hello if you’re going 🙂

Reading is something I love to do, I’m working my way through Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander books at the moment, nearly finished book two. So, I decided to join in with Art Journey’s latest challenge, and make myself a new bookmark.
I used a Gelli Plate print, mounting it onto greyboard, then stamping images from Art Journey stamp plates Chess and Umbrella Girl. Finished off with some Tim Holtz Label Letters and some stapled pink felt rick rack.

Last week I shared details of PaperArtsy’s new Hotpick and Limited Edition Fresco Finish Paint release HERE.
Today, I’m sharing a few step-by-step photos of a couple of my projects, of how the backgrounds and cards came together.
This card was made using HPXM08…
The background of this card was brayered layers of Chalk, Concrete, Moonlight, and new Professor Plum Fresco Paint.
I added a final light layer of Moonlight to knock back the Professor Plum, then stamped the textured tree from HPXM08 with new Captain Peacock Fresco.
I cut this background down to fit my 6×6 inch card blank, stamped the swirly tree with black archival ink onto a tree from the leftover background, cut it out, and used foam pads to adhere it top left. I stamped the sentiment from HPXM08 bottom right, and added some bling to finish.
My next card was made using HPXM09…
I brayered layers of Chalk, Concrete, Captain Peacock & Professor Plum, then stamped the plum pudding recipe from Ink and the Dog Xmas Plate 1. I used the brayer to apply some Crackle Glaze on parts of the background.
I then brayered some Moonlight Fresco over parts of the background, then waited for the crackles to develop. I stamped a few bubbles from Squiggly Ink Mini 15.
The sentiment from HPXM09 was stamped onto white card that was lightly brayered with Mermaid Fresco, the tree painted with Captain Peacock Fresco, then matted onto card painted with Captain Peacock, and then onto black card. I added some bling to finish.
Hope I’ve inspired you,
have a creative day,
Alison x

I started watching Ray Donovan series one yesterday, and wanted something creative to do whilst watching, so out came the beads, and I made two more little necklaces to go with my orange and turquoise choker. I love how they all look altogether, with my little silver cross 🙂
Think I’m going to enjoy Ray Donovan! 😉

I used my 4″ round Gelli Plate with various translucent Fresco Paints Yellow Submarine, Tango, Autumn Fire, London Bus, Brown Shed), then stamped lots of leaves from PaperArtsy Ellen Vargo plate EEV04.
