This is going to be a long post... bear with me! I can't think of a better way to spend your 18th birthday than to have your senior prom with you favorite people!! The day started early with an amazing race! Parker's Mom coordinated the entire thing and had a few of us parents help out. Chan and I were posted at the 7-11 waiting for them to arrive, purchase a slurpee, drink the entire thing before giving them another clue! It was hilarious!

They obviously had already done some other challenges, you can tell by their sunglasses and shower caps!

They ended the race at Parkers house and then drove their dates home to get ready for the dance. I had scheduled with Chan's parents to take pictures at their new house. They purchased a home in Pepperwood, not far from here, but hadn't moved in yet because they are going to remodel a few things. The view from their yard is STUNNING! However, the weather turned and we needed to do the pictures indoors, so they were kind enough to let us use the inside! It turned out awesome!

Will's 18th birthday is tomorrow but he has Prom that day so I decided to surprise him and decorate his room for his big day so he'd see it after work!

It was super fun to do this since I knew he wouldn't be expecting it at all! The funny thing is that when he got home he wanted to do anything but go downstairs! Haha!

I was chatting with him for a few minutes and then kept hinting for him to go to his room. After finally ASKING him to go and get something he went down there and started laughing.

He said, "So THAT'S why you kept saying to come down here!" Well YEAH!!!! Silly!

I was grateful that I surprised him though! It doesn't matter how old they get I still like making their birthdays fun!

I now have ANOTHER adult child! How did this happen! Haha! But seriously, you cannot get a better kid than Will! He is fun, smart, thoughtful, talented and MUCH more!

Happy happy birthday Will! We love you!!

Today was a big day at our house. After a very long time of not knowing what he would do Will decided today that he wants to serve a mission. I have to admit I was a little surprised! However, I was also thrilled! How thankful I am for his wonderful friends who are good examples to him as well as a wonderful bishop and leadership that has helped him come to his decision. I am thankful he has an older brother too who can help coach him through it all. Once again I am SO grateful for my kids. They inspire me to be better.

Today is the day for Chan's follow up from his surgery. He has been feeling very well and is excited to see what Dr Berry has to say.

He was THRILLED with Chan's progress. His stomach has healed beautifully, the scar is kinda gnarly, but it's clean and looks great! He also showed us his xrays of the hardware he has and WHOA!! It's crazy!!

He has a fusion of the L4, L5 and S1 vertebrae. The disc in between L4 and L5 is the one that was shifting and is not longer doing that.

That little spider looking thing on the right is basically a clamp that is holding it in place from here on out so it will no longer move. It's looks pretty scary, but boy is he feeling SO MUCH BETTER! I am so grateful to Dr Berry and his persistence to making it right. Chan is recovering exactly as he should be! YAY!!!

Carter and Kimberlee are officially "boyfriend/girlfriend"!! I kind of saw it coming! They get along so well and are darling together! Yay!!!

They see each other all the time and I love that they are making church a priority too. They even went to a session of conference together.

I would be very happy to see them be together forever! Can it be that time??? I find it hard to believe I am old enough to have grown children much less MARRIED children! Yikes! Also, funny to mention that Kimberlee's Homecoming is TOMORROW and she already has a boyfriend! Kind of funny!!

Also, on a side note, Chan bought me these gorgeous flowers one day "just because". They are my favorite flowers! He is so good to me! I have truly landed the BEST guy to be with forever! And what a wonderful example to set for his boys too! :)

Family Pictures!! For Christmas this past year I told all of Chan's family that we were going to pay for family pictures as a gift. We did pictures all together and some as families too. I came home from work and got ready along with the family and we met up at Potato Hill in Draper. The weather seems great up until we got up there and it was SOOOO WINDY!! Like REALLY BAD! I was worried that our neighbor/photographer Jessica would cancel because of it. But nope, she is THAT talented and managed to get some GREAT shots of us!
