About the challenge

CruzHacks 2026 is centered around our "Tech Cares" theme, challenging you to build innovative solutions that make a real difference. Choose from four prize tracks: Sustainability (living harmoniously with our planet), Health (accessible mental & physical well-being), Justice (upholding truth in the misinformation age), or Education (transforming learning environments). Your hack should address real-world problems and create meaningful impact in one of these areas.

Get started

  1. Form your team (or find one at our team formation session)
  2. Pick your track – choose the cause that resonates most with you
  3. Brainstorm solutions – what problem will you solve?
  4. Start building – you have [36 hours] to bring your idea to life
  5. Submit your project and present to our judges

Remember: focus on impact over perfection. We want to see creative solutions that address real challenges. Good luck, hackers!
