WHEN
SURVIVORS
SPEAK,
CHANGE
HAPPENS
We are a 200,000+ strong network of crime survivors, who organize in chapters nationwide to create healing communities, develop leaders and drive policies that make everyone safer.
Programs
Crime Survivors Speak Programs bring survivors together to share our stories, honor our loved ones and ourselves, and create healing communities through chapters, events, research, trainings and organizing.
Survivors Speak is the largest gathering of crime survivors in the country. We gather at state capitols to create healing communities, raise awareness and shape safety policy.
We’re building survivor leaders who can drive systemic change in their communities, advocate for survivor-centered policies and support the growth of leaders nationwide.
We’re organizing 100,000 crime survivors to vote in the next election, and demand that public officials commit to a new, effective approach to public safety.
Our expert research, analysis, and public opinion polling help state and local governments make policy decisions that support safety and healing for survivors. About Crime Survivors Speak
With more than 200,000 members and growing – including chapters and leaders across the country – Crime Survivors Speak is the largest organization of crime survivors in the nation. We are building a movement to heal together and promote public safety policies that help the people and communities most harmed by crime and violence. For too long, public safety systems haven’t helped victims or stopped crime cycles, despite billions spent every year. Instead, too much incarceration and bureaucracy – and too little crime prevention, rehabilitation, or trauma recovery – has meant that the cycle of harm continues. We’re organizing to change that. The experiences and leadership of survivors can guide the country toward a new set of policies for safety that lasts and justice that heals. Crime Survivors Speak is a program of Just Safe.
