Please, tell me there's still hope. We're putting together a new pc for my mother-in-law, and she chose her monitor and keyboard/mouse. Frankly, I hate all of them. The monitor is a 17-inch Viewsonic VE710b LCD. It does this wierd thing where everytime the pc is powered off or the resolution changes (i.e., when we run WoW or any other game) it has to auto-adjust itself, and often as not, the desktop will be squished all the way to the left, so the start menu is inaccessible. This can be manually adjusted, but is a pain in the ass. The keyboard/mouse . . . it's a logitech wireless set, and the keyboard has about a million more buttons than are necessary, and the Function keys have to be TURNED ON, they are by default mapped to do things like open MS Word, and WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO DO THAT? And I can't map the mouse key to go back in Mozilla, although it claims it is mapped, I had to set it to replicate the backspace key. WTF? Tell me it's better than this, somewhere. I feel: aggravated

Things I MUST DO TONIGHT: 1) Laundry One load in dryer, one currently in washer. 2) Pick up kitty roofies from vet Done! Roofies safely in pocket. 3) Pack at least three boxes of books 4) Cook some real food Out of the oven in 15 minutes! 5) Do at least one load of dishes Done! I might even have a burst of spastic and do a second load, which would pretty much clear the dishes entirely. 6) Watch last two episodes of season two. The TV and the bulk of the library are in the same room, so it looks like I'll be able to hit every item on my list tonight! My husband will be astonished. B5 now has THREE, that's right, THREE episodes that have made me wail like a slapped child. Glabro is a kick ass GM, and a damn fine country singer. I skidded to work today. I feel: chipper

So . . . I've just sent this email to an awful lot of people. If you didn't get it, it's because either you: a) don't have an email address listed on your livejournal profile, or b) you don't actually live in Montreal. Or because I just didn't think of you in that damn giant list of people I just sent it to. None of these should be interpreted as a reason not to attend, if you can swing it.
Greetings!
As most of you are aware, Mnem and I are displacing to Toronto at the end of the month. I realise that for a lot of you this will be just like me living here, considering how much we don't leave the house, but all the same, I'd appreciate it if you could all come render your condolences in person at Grumpy's on Friday, January 27. The mourning starts at 8 pm, and will continue until we get kicked out or the sun comes up, whichever comes first.
Pass this email around . . . if you know anyone who'd like to come say goodbye, by all means, tell them to come! On this night, there are no grudges or arguments. Life's too short . . . and Toronto's too far away.
Jess
