Grammys

It's Grammy time!

I don't know much about music. I just know what I like and what I don't care for so I certainly won't talk about who I thought deserved anything. I'm just gonna watch and write about whatever comes to mind.

Right now, I'm watching E! and I have to say Ryan Seacrest makes his job look so easy. I think whoever came up with this - "Do what you love and you won't work a day in your life" - was thinking about him when they came up with that quote. Same goes for Gulliana. Anyhooooo, I'm gonna focus on the outfits now. Maybe I will find new designs for the Ankara chilling in my portmanteau.

RED CARPET -

  • Jamie Foxx looks sharp. He also needs some type of GPS or tracking device for his daughter. She looks gorgeous. BTW, I know Ryan didn't just tell Jamie to turn around and look at Miley and her mom. LOL...sly Ryan. He does it so effortlessly. LOL
  • Nicole Kidman doesn't look so pale today. Nice.
  • Taylor Swift looks nice but she owes Kanye West some money. She better pay up.
  • I don't care for Beyonce's dress. Where's RihRih?
  • So that's Ke$ha? Hmmm...ok. Maybe she hasn't hired a stylist yet. Baby steps. She just said her style is "garbage can chic." It all makes sense now. Gulliana needs to pray for forgiveness for telling her she looks hot.
  • Lea Michele has a tiny waist. Must be nice.
  • Ciara's outfit is ugly!!! Gulliana needs to stop lying to these stars. Maybe it's part of her job to lie. Wetin concern me sef?
  • There's something about Jessica White that bothers me. She beautiful but she seems kinda off. I used to think she could do no wrong when she was discovered. Now, not so much.
  • Mary is HAWT!
  • I no likey RihRih's dress. Eww!
  • I hope Lady Gaga's doesn't poke somebody's eye out with that thing she has in her hand.
THE SHOW

  • With that thingy Lady Craz...I mean Lady Gaga has on, we can conclude she doesn't have a penis. Her performance is kinda boring sha.
  • Mr. Colbert is killing me in a bad way. Can Mr. Ricky Gervais please stand up?
  • I'm so happy Bee won for song of the year.
  • I thought Beyonce was going to bring it but she did so much that I didn't see it.
  • Pink can sing and her performance was definitely interesting. How did she manage to sing suspended in the air like that?
  • Why did they televise the award for best comedy album?
  • Robert Downey Jr. looked hawt! Oga! I remember when he used to be in trouble and on T.V. coked out.
  • Did Jamie Foxx lip synch the 'Blame it' song. I have to say his performance was the most interesting performance even though all he did was jump up and down on stage.
  • Lionel Richie looks like he doesn't age sha. I like when people like him talk about Michael Jackson.
  • Okay, scratch what I typed earlier...MJ's tribute was the most interesting part of the show. Ursh can sing o. Celine kwa. Chai! No words. They shoulda fashied Smokey Robinson.
  • J-hud's perfomance outfit was way hotter than what she wore on the red carpet.
  • Drake, Eminem, and Weezy - definitely interesting performance by these guys. Too bad they bleeped almost errr word that escaped their mouths. I still think that little man, Weezy is swaggalicious.
  • I missed Maxwell's performance :(
  • Taylor Swift won album of the year. What nonsense! Award shows suck!! ^^%&%^&%^%!!!
That's all I have regarding the Grammy Awards. I give it a D 'cause it was mostly boring. I wasted almost three hours of my time watching that mess. I need to spank myself.

Thoughts, Observations, Questions - Totally Random "Stuffs"...:)

First, can I just say I absolutely detest hearing the word "Stuffs." The first time I heard it was in my dear country, Nigeria where my very dear friend was giving the latest gist and she finished by saying, "and stuffs like that." Chai. I thought she made a mistake, but I later found that it was one of the latest "slangs" in Naija that eventually migrated abroad. I think whoever started saying it thought it was perfectly correct and was probably an ajebo chic; her friend thought it was totally cool and spread it and now it's one of those things Naija people say. Having said that, you are not allowed to call me out for any sentence or word I type that isn't correct. Thank you. :)

I actually wanted to write about Nigeria/Nigerians and where we currently stand but decided against it 'cause I was gonna say a lot about Umar, and I figured most people who care are Farouked out. I will say this though - it amazed me how fast people joined the "I condemn Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. Nigerians are not terrorists" group on facebook. Like most Nigerians, I was enraged and appalled by his actions but something about how fast that group grew bothered me. I can't quite articulate why I was bothered though. I was also bothered by comments my fellow Nigerians made like, "I will just carry my blue kpali," and "I'm going to start saying I'm from Ghana." Such comments were made by people that claim to be Nigerians. If you want Nigeria to succeed and get better, you first have to be proud. If you cannot stand up for your own country, who will?

Speaking of Nigeria, I recently listened to the Members of the Nigerian Senate and Members of the House of Representatives discuss our issues and have come to the conclusion that a lot of them are actually smart individuals that have the right ideas about what should be done. I just don't understand why their ideas cannot be implemented. Hmmmm...I did say I wasn't going to blog about Nigeria, right? Wellll...just a few more comments and I will be done. I also have to say that I don't think some members of the Senate and House of Reps know why they are members. During one of their sessions (is that what it's called? I'm not good with these things), one Senator or member of the House (I forget which one) just listed his five titles, said jibberish and sat down. He was an igbo man *ducks* if I am not mistaken. Dubya Tee Eff! One of such people made me extremely mad when he encroached on Honorable Patrick Obahiagbon's time. I have a peculiar fondness for that man and look forward to hearing him speak so I was beyond infuriated when he had only less than two minutes to speak. He didn't get to say much and I didn't get to experience the mental orgasm I usually experience while listening to him but I got a new quote from him. He said, among other things, that "Nigeria is the giant of Africa standing on spaghetti legs." Ok, enough about my dear country.

Totally Randoms Stuffs - he. he. he.

  • I do detest that word. I wasn't lying. Why do I keep using it, you ask? I don't know!
  • I think Christoph Waltz...you don't know who he is?...he was in Inglorious Basterds...he won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and recently won a SAG award...still don't know what I'm on about? Please google or skip this bullet point. As I was saying, I think Christoph Waltz thinks his acceptance speeches have to sound like a poetry recital. I actually hit the mute button on my remote control while he spoke at the SAG awards. Is he a poet too?
  • I think Drew Barrymore has the Forrest Whitaker syndrome. Don't know what I'm on about? Youtube his Oscar speech and youtube Drew's Golden Globe and SAG speeches.
  • Why does it feel like Monique and the cast of Precious are like those token black actors you see in some movies? I think they deserve all the recognition they have received for the movie but I get that feeling whenever I see them at an award show. By the way, I really like that Gabourey Sidibe chic.
  • Why wasn't Freida Pinto's voice used in her Loreal ad?
  • Why was Evangeline Lilly's voice used in her Loreal ad?
  • I think James McAvoy is HOT! I miss watching my baby on screen. You don't know who that is? Well, there's no hope for you.
  • I wanna see Valentine's Day.
  • I feel like drinking a cold glass of Orange Juice.
  • Blogging is hard. I will never fantasize about strangling those bloggers I love who don't update regularly.
In case you're wondering why my random thoughts are mostly about actors and movies, it's because I was watching the SAG awards when I started this post.

I apologize for all the typos and grammatical errors in this post. I'm too lazy to proofread. Please do not sue.
